The hosts were wonderful, taking their time to explain everything in detail. The sauna, available for a small additional fee, is absolutely worth it. The staff was very friendly and everything was very clean. The onsen had various types of baths, including a large outdoor bath. There was also a restaurant, thought closed during our stay, and a nice relax area with free massage chairs, games and books/manga to enjoy. The house was beautiful with a very nice interior. We loved the tableware. Also, the hotplate was very useful. This area is quite remote and far from the highway. Therefore, it is quiet and peaceful with nice scenic spots. Still, if you are visiting from another prefecture, we recommend at least two nights in a row to fully enjoy your stay. Check-in at 3 pm and Check-out at 10 am can be challenging, especially when you are traveling with kids and during winter season, when the sun sets early.
