Jeng is an amazing host and made us feel entirely welcome. The traditional food served here was amazing. Stayed in a tatami room with futons were very comfortable and clean, adding to our experience. Great base for nakasendo walking trail. Loved this destination and thoroughly recommend to others.

Staff were flexible and they went above and beyond to help, which we really appreciated. The facility was very clean, including the shared spaces. There was a large, well-equipped kitchen and food and drink to purchase. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the small lockboxes in the bunk bed cubbies. The town is only a 10-minute walk away. Overall, it’s a good place to stay if you’re walking the Nakasendo.

With single group booking (at a time) the feeling is more relaxed and private than a hotel. Meals (breakfast and dinner) are a wonderful introduction to Japanese cuisine, and onsen bathing makes for a relaxing stay.

A bit of a splurge after hiking the Nakascendo Trail, great value as it includes just about everything. Delicious buffet dinner and breakfast, so much choice. It’s fairly remote and we were the only westerners staying there. Free shuttle bus to station also.

Lovely clean hotel. The first one in a two week trip where you have to remove your shoes on entry but I guess it helps keep the place really clean. There’s an on site hot spa which we didn’t use and breakfast was ok. There’s free parking at various sites just a short walk away and a wonderful beef restaurant opposite the hotel. The room was quite small but adequate and comfortable.
