I had no expectations except I wanted to immerse myself into the local culture and to my delight I found people to be like my own people even some resembled to my own. I come from Armenian background so food and customs were similar in spite of the fact sheikh Sulleiman's family are devout Muslims and I come from Christian background. But having long talks with all of them I found we understood and respected each other's customs. I went there alone and I came back having left a family behind. I shall carry them all in my heart wherever I go. Thank you dear family for your hospitality and acceptance of me and my eccentricity! Perhaps not too eccentric in Jordan but I sure am in England! Shokran! :)

EL-KARAK is a beautiful town in the heart of the Jordan-Valley... The views of the Valley are breathtaking!!! The BEST local restaurant in town is located right next door!!! There is a wonderful bakery literally right across the street from the hotel and the baker will offer you traditional tea "shi" pop to drink with a variety of traditional bread... Most importantly the locals are extremely warm and welcoming... They might even invite you over to their home to eat Jordan traditional MANSAF 😋

Host was very welcoming, offering us some snack and juices.
The apartment was standard, spacious and clean.
Kitchen was basic, only a few utensils, but enough for us to cook some food for the next day.
TV had lots of channels (although we didn't use it much).

Mimi was amazing and very helpful, she looked after us all the time. I hope her good hospitality is recognized! She is very humble and kind, but not always we are lucky to find people like her.
I also loved that the place is cat-friendly, I love animals, especially cats and I hope they are treated very well. Because that makes special that place. Mimi was feeding them I hope she keeps doing this.
