Really convenient location for cycling tourists like us - the location was really convenient with plenty of storage room for bikes. Right in the middle of Volterra this charming hotel was booked for a 2 night stay to attend a wedding in Tuscany. It is a family run property and they are lovely people. They helped us with bags up to our rooms. The breakfast was generous and they served hot delicious cappuccinos! The paid car park is a short 2 min walk. We received detailed instructions and the hotel manager was very responsive on WhatsApp guiding us to park and walk to hotel. He even helped take our bags back to car park on check out. The rooms were charming and clean.

Volterra is a nice hilltop town with a few churches and museums. The shopkeepers are friendly and they have some lovely artisan products. There is a large outdoor market on Fridays when the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere. The alabaster sculpture are stunning and unusual. There are a couple of good supermarkets with tasty deli selections. It well located for visiting other cities and towns in Tuscany.

The villa was a wonderful place to stay!

The villa was a wonderful place to stay! The building was built in the 15th century but has all the modern amenities. Our host/owner Luca was so accommodating in every way. His staff prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with many varieties of local cuisine. He had even prepared a map and detailed itinerary for several day trips if we wanted to explore the surrounding towns and other sights. This hotel was an excellent find.

Volterra is a beautiful historic town and walking around the narrow streets feels like stepping back several centuries in time. Walking around the traffic free central area was a pleasure. We visited several historic buildings including the beautiful cathedral. Also some excellent museums with great collections and works of art. There are many lovely restaurants and cafes too which make Volterra well worth a visit.

this place was absolutely AMAZING. we arrived later than anticipated due to getting a little lost in the hills with no service, and Luigi was WONDERFUL. he and his wife provided us with one of the best meals we've had in Italy when it turned out the nearby restaurant was closed. the place was adorable and very comfortable. lots of space and light, and the views were INCREDIBLE. in the morning we had a delicious breakfast and Luigi very kindly drove us down to the bus stop. 11/10, would hugely recommend staying here

Bike & Bed Hotel appears to be a repurposed college in the non-school year. As it was (vertically) a significant distance from Volterra centro, I (and most other cyclists/guests) appreciated that they offered a full dinner and breakfast at the 'hotel'. They also accommodated our cycling need by offering a bike wash stand, repair tools and lube. Very considerate of them.
