One of the best places I have been in Italy. Lovely little town, lots of nice restaurants and bars and shops. Amazing views. Gorgeous sunsets. Well worth the effort it took to get here - its not an easy place to get to but well worth it.

Volterra is a nice hilltop town with a few churches and museums. The shopkeepers are friendly and they have some lovely artisan products. There is a large outdoor market on Fridays when the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere. The alabaster sculpture are stunning and unusual. There are a couple of good supermarkets with tasty deli selections. It well located for visiting other cities and towns in Tuscany.

The villa was a wonderful place to stay!

The villa was a wonderful place to stay! The building was built in the 15th century but has all the modern amenities. Our host/owner Luca was so accommodating in every way. His staff prepared a delicious breakfast each morning with many varieties of local cuisine. He had even prepared a map and detailed itinerary for several day trips if we wanted to explore the surrounding towns and other sights. This hotel was an excellent find.

Volterra is a beautiful historic town and walking around the narrow streets feels like stepping back several centuries in time. Walking around the traffic free central area was a pleasure. We visited several historic buildings including the beautiful cathedral. Also some excellent museums with great collections and works of art. There are many lovely restaurants and cafes too which make Volterra well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful time staying at this family run hotel. The hotel is situated about a twenty minute walk below volterra, meaning it is very peaceful with a lovely outlook over hills of Tuscany. The rooms are a good size and well soundproofed. Parking is plentiful and spacious. Finally the breakfast is amazing, the choices were up there with many top end hotels we have stayed in. The home made cakes, required much willpower not to over indulge. We hope to be able to come back some day.

Check in was easy and room ready earlier than advertised. Location is excellent although Volterra is very hilly so a steep climb from the hotel to the centre of town. Parking easily available. Bedroom was clean and comfortable with good bathroom. Large swimming pool that was very welcome after walking about town. We ate in the hotel restaurant. Very atmospheric with good food and wine. External views were spectacular.

This place is magical, and Renzo was the most perfect host! Only a 10 minute drive to Volterra but this place feels like you are far away in the hills of Tuscany. Absolutely breathtaking! If you are visiting Volterra, I highly encourage you to stay at Casa Zeno. Renzo is one of the sweetest people we met in Italy, and by far the best host we’ve ever had at any place we’ve visited! Thank you so much, Renzo!

Really loved this hotel! Great location (if you arrive by car) on top of the hill with amazing view! Nice and calm and quite relaxing atmosphere. The infinity pool was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. The only thing I could wish for was slightly better food but it's defenitly ok! I recommend to book on their own website for the best price :)

The setting in an old monastery is fabulous. It's definitely something a bit different from a standard hotel experience. Sitting in the courtyard garden surrounded by the old monastery building, drinking a cold beer is sheer perfection after a long day of cycling. One of the highlights of our bike tour of Tuscany.

The room is very pleasant, well decorated, confortable and clean. The situation in the center is perfect and it is possible to park the car nearby in park P1. The host helps you to carry the luggage. It is quiet and there is a coffee bar at the top of the hotel. I have been very satisfied and recommand the location.
