The environment that is created by the people, the quality of the food and the beautiful surroundings meant we felt ‘at home’ immediately. The rooms were immaculately presented and the ceramics on show through out give the hotel real character.
Boasting a balcony with garden views, pool with a view and a garden, Villa san Lorenzo rooms can be found in Scala, close to San Lorenzo Cathedral and 2.5 km from Atrani Beach.

We will never forget the delicious breakfast on the terrace while looking at this magnificient valley with its lemon trees, the ruins of the basilica and the ocean. Easily on of the best accomodations I have ever been to. The staff is lovely and help you with everything you need and make you feel welcome.
Set in a renovated Episcopal palace, this property is located in the medieval centre of Pontone. It features panoramic sea and mountain views, stylish rooms, and italian breakfast.

This was amazing. The room with the sea view was incredibly great, and our host Katia was even greater.
Pontone was a little hard to get to but very nice and peaceful once you get there. The information we got from Katia helped a lot. The walk down to Amalfi was worth to do atleast once just for the beautiful views.
Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations. Truly amazing. Big thanks to our lovely and considerate host Katia!!
Boasting mountain views, Ravello View provides accommodation with balcony, around 2.8 km from Atrani Beach. There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay.

Nearby Ravello may be more beautiful, but Scala has more of a sense of community. Also, it was good to get away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal towns of Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento in the evenings, and have no trouble finding restaurants or places to drink. We found a lovely restaurant in Scala's main square, the Ristorante dei Cavalieri, which comes highly recommended. We ate there on three occasions as the food was of such a high standard, the service was exemplary and the cost very reasonable. I also ate at our hotel (Ravello View) on one night, and it proved to be the culinary highlight of our holiday. It was a Sea Bream with cooked vegetables, and it was superb. Located just two to three miles above the coastal resorts of Amalfi and Atrani, and across the valley from Ravello, Scala is a perfect location to discover the delights of the Amalfi Coast and beyond.

Scala is lovely and Ravello walkable If you are fit.
Scala is lovely and Ravello walkable If you are fit. The bus service to Amalfi and Ravello could be a little erratic. Having a car is more of a hinderance than a help. Restaurants and cafes are available. San Lorenzo Cathedral is worth a visit. They still use mules to deliver goods etc in the village. A very quaint town

There is only 1 restaurant and a pizzaria in the village. The shops are very basic but you should be able to get most things if you self-cater. It is easy to get to Ravello by bus (tickets must be purchased in advance from the "card shop"). Ideally you need your own transport as the terrain is very hilly. It is expensive to get to and from the airport by taxi.

Great little town, quite and off the busy Amalfi coast towns with a nice view. Having a car really helped. There was a great restaurant within a 20 minute walk of our B&B. You need to be in good shape to walk around, as very hilly.

Scala is quiet, authentic and charming, with beautiful views of Ravello and the Amalfi coast everywhere you go. There are a few decent café and restaurant options, mostly in the town center. This is a steep mountain village so having a car to go up and down the switchback slopes is highly recommended. Finding parking in the small town center was never an issue, not even in the middle of July.

Scala is a small, unspoilt town with several bars and restaurants on the main road. Further restaurants are dotted through the town, Zio Peppe was a great find up in the hills and Il Pinguino serve great food. Da Pietro snack bar in the town square has great views across the gorge and serves the best Aperol spritz.
If you want to explore further there is a great picnic area at Parco Paradiso, hidden high up in the hills, where you can bring your own food to cook on wood burning grills and pizza ovens with nothing but the sound of nature.
There is a regular bus service to Ravello and Amalfi and also a walking route down to Amalfi.
Parking spaces marked with blue are pay-parking.
Most amazing view of the region (even better than in Ravello)
Very quiet area, far from agitated coast and tourist while still being relatively close (but need car otherwise it is complicated)
Small swimming pool with a 5 stars hotel view
Very nice apartment (Anna), clean, confortable and well furnished
Baby-foot and table tennis to entertain
Very nice host, offered us coffee, lemoncello, drove us to Ravello for visiting and even offered a birthday gift !
They know local shops so they can even deliver food to the property
Amazing! If we ever go back we will go back to the same hotel for sure. Staff is amazing, sharing helpful information regarding transportation/ restaurants, we had an amazing room, overviewing Ravello, had breakfast on our balcony. Everyone was super friendly and the hotel is great. You can get taxi or bus that stops in front of the hotel to check out the other towns near by. Comfy beds, very clean, amazing views :) Thank you
Room is huge and modern, with ceramic decor typical of Amalfi Coast. Bathroom is big and modern with a spacious shower. Bed is really comfortable.
The hotel is nice and staff is hepfull and very gentle. Rooms have a balcony with a breathtaking view of the Amalfi gulf you hardly find in other accomodations. Same view is available in the breakfast area of the hotel.
Breakfast has a nice selection of both sweet and savory food.
Luigi was very solicitous and had great suggestions for restaurants and cafes. The Scala location was gorgeous and the room was tastefully decorated. I loved the terrace overlooking Ravello and spent time there. My husband was thrilled that there was a washing machine and he could leave Scala with clean clothes. The room was equipped with a stove and I could make tea.
I loved how non-touristic Scala was.
The location and views were beautiful. the house is spacious, clean, and had everything. it is a quick walk into the heart of Ravello and to Scala. the property has a beautiful view of Ravello, is a minute to the bus ( for transportation to Amalfi/ other towns). the gardens were gorgeous with lemon/lime/orange trees. A great breakfast spread with fresh fruit/yogurt/cereals is laid out as well :):)
It was an amazing location but be aware the hotel might have extra guests or evening events. Very nice and calm, not a lot of tourists during our stay in May and easy access to the pool, breakfast and excellent dinners. Very touristy places like Ravello and Amalfi. There were extra pool towels. The host had many great suggestions for what we had planned during our stay.
We had the best stayed in Italy this summer thanks to Albergo La Margherita. The Hotel is so beautiful with a very nice view. The staff was super friendly and attentive, specially Carla who helped us so much with our trip. The rooms were really cozy and comfortable, delicious breakfast and great location with a bus stop right next to the hotel.
Antonio and his family were amazing, breakfast was just superb with a lot of choice (with a special attention for coeliac regime!). The hotel is located in a quiet place in Scala and offers a fantastic view over Ravello! Antonio also helped us to reserve a scooter for one day. The piscine was also great!
The apt was very well equipped , we loved the balcony overlooking the valley and Ravello across the way. Scala is a lovely quiet village, away from the hectic amalfi. Luigi was very helpful regarding recommendations for restaurants, shopping etc.
Everything! One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Staff was amazing, view was breathtaking, breakfast was delicious, impeccable service and as clean as you could expect a place of this category to be. Simply amazing.
Nice place in Scala right near Ravelo, we enjoyed jacuzzi and the view. I liked how they were organised with breakfast into another location and pool at a nearby hotel. We could even walk to the Amalfi by foot.
The hotel was beautiful!!! The owners and staff were amazing! We absolutely loved everything. It was extremely clean and organized. We had a beautiful view from our room and the home made food was DELICIOUS!!
The apartment was very clean, spacious & new with great views. Valentina was a delight to chat with. She was also very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Scala and Ravello.
It was amazing! We didn't expect that - With a beautiful view on Scala and Ravello - We felt in heaven! We will def recommend this place. It was CLEAN, staff were lovely. We wish we booked more days.
It is into a quite location not so far from Amalfi, very quiet and one can enjoy a nice dinner in the terrace. The hotel is very well kept. Well Done. Breakfast comes with good choice.
Lovely location, beautiful view across to Ravello. Comfortable accommodation, great for couples. Well stocked with the things you need. Scala beautiful and peaceful.
This was a perfect, quiet stay in Scala. The staff was excellent, food was incredible, and the views were beautiful. We couldn’t have asked for anything more!
