Renato our host was super friendly and helpful. His local experience and knowledge were exceptional. Whenever we had questions he was there to support. We even changed all our plans according to his advice and suggestions. Our experience in Tuscany was much better because of the itinerary he created for us! Borgo del Grillo is meticulously renovated. The ground are very well maintained and green (even in mid summer). The pool is big (but not very warm- be aware that you're around 600m above sea level. The upside is that even in mid summer the place was rather cool (very thick walls etc). The place does not have aircon but we did not need it.
Maurizio the host put quite some effort in the apartment to modernize it. The place was rather big and the beds comfy (especially in the master bedroom). The unit had 2 baths which was convenient with 2 kids. The borgo consists of around 10-15 units that are all privately owned and some of them are rented out. Maurizo owns a couple of them. When we stayed many of the owners where there (including Maurizio). That gave a vey good vibe (very inclusive and willing to help you out with tips etc). The location is a bit off the beaten track. But if you want to visit the Val d'Orcia (and you should since it is really beautiful) I would def recommend Borgo del Grillo. Do not go there if you expect nigh life etc. Montepulciano and Montalcino are within easy reach. We also went to Orvieto, highly recommended!!

Best booking experience ever! The host was extremely helpful, friendly and always available with any questions.
The location is very good, a few steps from the old town, food stor, a restaurant etc. Free parking is right around the corner.
It is located in a historical building with a very authentic yard view.
The apartment itself is nice and clean. Shower gel, shampoo, fresh towels, coffee machine - everything was provided.
Highly recommend this place to stay in Sarteano. The best and easiest booking experience. 11/10!
This is a beautiful small town. Favorite restaurant is Chiostro Cennini. All restaurants, bars, gelato store, supermarket, small grocery, pharmacy within easy walking distance of this apartment. The old town charm is everywhere and this city seems to be well loved and maintained.

Sarteano is a great place to stay in Tuscany. Easy access to Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza, Val d’Orcia without the high prices of the above mentioned tourist hotspots. A lovely spot in itself too.
This property is located in the city center of sarteano and is walking distance to almost everything you would like to visit. It was very clean and well maintained. The rooms were very spacious, well lit and had good air conditioning which was very much needed given the temperatures were reaching 36-37 degrees in august. Matilda, the host , was a very friendly person…she didn’t even charge us for one coffee mug that we accidentally broke during our stay.
Bruno is a gracious and charming host. He happily accommodated our vegan dietary requests. Baked goods, handmade by Bruno’s mother, were exceptional. His property is ideally located for exploring the lovely town of Sarteano and the entire region. Bruno mapped out our daily excursions to ensure we experienced the best of Tuscany and Umbria. We are highly recommending Ai Lecci in Centro to our friends. Bruno made this our best vacation to date.
The hotel is perfectly located geographically for exploring all of Tuscany. We went to Sarteano itself (Etruscan tombs, museum, castle), Cetona, Asissi, Perugia, Terme de Saturnia, San Quirico d’Orcia, Montepulciano and Siena from here. Renato is a keen host - he’ll start your day offering the latest cake selections for breakfast (all amazing) and will pop up regularly thereafter to check in on your stay and provide advice/anecdotes.
The streets of the old section of Sarteano are very narrow, and the proprietor called us ahead of time to let us know that he would pick us up at a convenient spot to bring us up with our suitcases. The monastery is breathtaking and the rooms are grand. There are many sitting areas to enjoy and the outside garden is marvelous. A catwalk takes you to a seating area to enjoy the view. We would definitely stay here again.
This apartment has 1 1/2 baths which is rare and it made our stay all the more comfortable. The location in Sarteano is ideal. Very close to everything and yet very quiet at night. No noise from bars or restaurants. Beautifully updated and decorated. Comfortable living room furniture. Wonderful windows to let the cool air in. Very comfortable bed in main bedroom. Very friendly and responsive owners.
The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and the restaurant serves wonderful locally sourced dinners each night with the selection of their own wines. Also, there's possibility to book e.g. wine tasting or e-bikes which was nice. Staff was very helpful and nice as well. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing stay in the Tuscany countryside!
Excellent room. Modern and stylish. Everything is absolutely new, like shining! Cosy bed with exceptional linen. The sleep was really fantastic that we appreciated mich.
As it’s not central location, it’s possible to have dinner at the hotel restaurant that we tried twice during our stay. The food is good but more expensive than in the city.
A fantastic hotel in a beautiful scenery. Felt like being in a dream world. It truly exceeded our expectations. Staff was wonderful, our room was spacious and so nice, restaurant fantastic. Incredible views, amazing location in one of the most beautiful places on Earth - pictures don't do it justice. Staff is incredibly friendly and takes amazing care of you, and the amenities (pool, horse stables, bar and restaurant, breakfast basket) were all amazing. The best hotel experience we've ever had, by far.

This location is perfect, steps from the center of town, yet a quiet beautiful oasis. Modern, clean amenities. Like a luxury garden and with a pool! A real treasure! The host Bruno was amazing, communicative, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend this place for any trip to Sarteano.
Het is very clean, big rooms, excellent food. The owner is a nice, vital, talkative lady, hard working. She take also the time for a talk. It is a very good hotel to explore this part of Tuscany or if you are on your way up to north or down to south. Highly recommended!
I especially liked the location and the quietness of the proprety. The staff is very friendly and they serve very good food. They have a very nice swimming pool and a nice view. We rented e-bikes and had a very nice trip with them to Chiancano and Sarteano.
