Excellent location, good price, very convenient check-in, and it was useful to have the breakfast bits already in the room (juice, cereal, biscuits, cake, cereal bars, tea, coffee, milk).

Amazing place for people which want to spend time with local people and mainly local tourists. We did not meet many people from other countries, price in restaurants are very "normal", not high like in another more popular destinations. Nice beaches, water in sea in clear and has amazing colours. City is calm but has a great offer for active tourists, is also interesting from historical point of view.
Is really worth to make a stop here, not treat Piombino only as a port in way to Elba. This city has a really nice offer. I would like to back here again.

Other than being accessible to the ferry. The town really did not have a lot to offer. Relied on public transportation which was quite good once you get the hang of it. Buy your tickets before boarding buses as they usually cost double from the driver.

Piombino is not only holiday destination, but also industrial city, sometimes were views in contrast to nice ocean scenerio.
In the evenings there was problem to find nice and free restaurant - usually you have to book your reservation in advance.
We definitely recommend a trip to Elba by ferry. Elba is perfect green with many beaches and breathtaking views.

Industrial and historical city. The industrial side let us a very bad impression of the town. Nevertheless, it was pleasant to visit the historic town. The castle, the little tower, the life : Piombino is a little and peaceful city.
Ideal place, good stuff but as in many places in Italy - English is not the strongest side :) Breakfast included is really basic but ok (coffee + croissant), we were with the bicycles and permitted to insert these into the room. Quiet, clean.
We had a room on entry level - the window was on level of the ground so not really possible to open the window or get a light from it. As we stayed only one night - not a deal for us - but have to be taken in consideration.
In general we liked the stay.
Superb location in Piombino: the front door opens onto a promenade not a road, with an easy stroll down to the pier to watch the sunset; a window with a view of Elba, the ferries, and far off Montecristo if the conditions are clear; and 10 minutes walk to the railway station, which enables access to Populonia and its Etruscan sites.
Clean, a warm welcome, and a good interior layout with a small inner courtyard.
The room is very nicely renovated and perfectly clean. The same applied for the bathroom. The owner's son communicated with us before our arrival to explain all details, waited for us to give us a room card and access codes and helped with free parking. The room is in a narrow street just a few steps from the main pedestrian street of Piombino and harbour.
The Hotel is well positioned if you are travelling by car and need to leave early in the morning to go getting a ferry (like we did). The staff is absolutely lovely and very welcoming does not matter the time of your check in (we arrived quite late in the night).

We have spent a few days at Excelsior during each of the past years and found our very positive experience fully confirmed again. Spacious appartment, very well equipped, clean and comfortable, stable WiFi, very friendly and supportive staff. Perfectly situated to enjoy a few days in Piombino. We look forward to coming back next year.
The Hotel Est is a nice clean friendly hotel within walking distance of the tourist area, the Piazza Bonio, the museums, and restaurants, but in a mostly residential neighborhood with a half dozen much better (and cheaper) restaurants. And it has air conditioning. It is also quite close to a bus stop.
everything is perfect! highly recommend! winter, summer! high tech installation: Alexa everywhere! rsrs! our kids love it! good furnitures, cleaning, high comfort! The host is amazing! and provide good explanation about everything in Piombino! I hope to return there in next opportunity in Italy!
Had a beach view which was very nice. Mostly workers were only other guest. Food was good and good value. Parking was excellent. Hotel seemed to be having a lot of work done so lots of boxes, furniture, and other items stacked.
Excellent base to use in the summer for visiting places nearby, or going to the beach. Welcome breeze, plenty of choices to eat out locally or in Piombino if you don’t want to eat in at the property. Welcoming host.
The host Andrea was exceptional and went above and beyond to help with transport, things to do in Piombino, and places to get food. The location was near the ocean and facilities like the grocery store, ATM, etc.

Very nice, staff were friendly, they reccomend us pizzeria near by the hotel, we arrange with them also for earlier breakfast, which was very good. We left car on the street, no problem.
