La casa di Oliva, hotel in Macerata

Situated within 21 km of Casa Leopardi Museum and 28 km of Santuario Della Santa Casa, La casa di Oliva features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Macerata.

Parking was an issue on arrival, very busy road and had to drive around the unknown city walls twice before finding a parking (Saturday afternoon) so be prepared. The apartment was spotlessly clean, fresh towels, stocked fridge for breakfast juice and milk, lovely coffee in pods, but the double mattress could have been more comfortable, but not a deal breaker. The proximity to the old city was super-useful and a winner. (The lift is extremely small and slow so need to up and down 3 flights of stairs - good exercise if you can manage it)

The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The owner went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. They were extremely accommodating and waited also our arrival in Macerata. Walking distance to everything downtown. Eleonora was delightful and eager to help! A huge thank you! Will recommend it to my friends!

It is in a good location to visit Macerata and it has parking, which is a bonus. The little apartment is great, especially if you are staying a few days. We were there in August, and it was hot, so having the pool to cool down at the end of the day is great.

    Macerata is a little gem.

Macerata is a little gem. Even if you come "only" for the opera festival in the Sferisterio, take your time to explore the town. There are good possibilities for shopping, enjoying local food and many places worth seeing. We were absolutely stunned by the lavish Baroque and Rococo frescoes and wall decorations in Palazzo Buonaccorsi, which we had completely to our own on a Saturday morning. Don't miss that, it is truly unique. Piazza delle Libertà with its Torre Civica and its astronomic clock with the carillon (at 12:00 and 18:00) is also a must see. A tour onto the tower must be a special treat, but you need to book your slot in advance, which we sadly didn't know. Then there is Piazza Mazzini with the Sferisterio (guided tours also there), the city walls, many churches, good food and wine, not to forget the surroundings - we definitely need to come back.

    Great town!

Great town! Had no idea what to expect and pleasantly surprised! Great city center, that's a little uphill but very walkable. Lots of good restaurant and gelato choices, especially open late. Really cool museum in town that is definitely worth checking out. Great views of the Italian countryside. Friendly people all around and not a lot of tourists for a unique Italian experience. Outstanding places to eat: Tutto Pepe, Porchetteria Centrale, Caffe Centrale, Pizzeria Bel Mondo.

The property is located within Macerata however, it is found at the end of a steep downhill facing the valley hence surrounded by the green. There is plenty of parking space at the property. The owner is a really nice person and was fully available to make the arrival smooth. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Air conditioning over summer is a must. There is a nice small pool in the garden of the property. Also, in the morning you can have a self service breakfast in the property kitchen. Highly recommended

The location for the Sferisterio was superb. The breakfast was good. The room was small but nice and cool. The provided toiletries were also very nice to have. The table and wardrobe in the room were super as was the little fridge for drinks and snacks. The room was very clean. I also thought it was a lovely building which was beautifully decorated with various paintings and little sculptures. The garden area outside the hotel behind the Sferisterio was lovely. I had breakfast there on a beautiful morning.

We had a great overnight stay at Hotel Lauri. It's in a great location and our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. We were fortunate to have booked a room with a terrace and would have loved to have been able to make more use of it. For a long stay it's ideal as there is also a kitchenette separate from the bedroom. The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and efficient.
