Straight away: You get close to the owner, who is very helpful, but also a bit of a character - in a good way! I was alone, but this place is probably perfect if you are a small group of two or three and plan to cook, etc.
Also, because it is not at a prominent location, it's pretty quiet.
However, if you prefer high-brow environments and distance to people, it might not be yours.
Biella was an utter surprise and a serendipitous find.
Biella was an utter surprise and a serendipitous find. It was not one but two "old town centers" -- Piazzo, up on the hill, where the palaces are, and Piano where the old merchants had set up town. A free, self-operated funicular connects the two.
There a beautiful villas throughout the merchant quarters, and delightful restaurants serving local fares at decent prices.
Interesting sites are within 20-30 minutes of driving, including Santuario d'Oropa; at an hour or so away, Valle d'Aosta and its fabulous fortresses and castles.

The stronger touristic point of Biella is the nature, the city center is nice and you can enjoy some restaurants, but besides that it is a city for chilling and going hiking more than exploring monuments and museums.

What a beautiful city and surrounding areas.
What a beautiful city and surrounding areas. So much to see and do, much of it just a short drive away - for instance, seeing the Black Madonna at Oropa, visiting the mediaeval castle in the city, eating the best ice cream I've ever had in the gelaterie next to the tourist office ... Looking forward to coming back and venturing further afield, for instance to the great lakes, only an hour or so's drive away.

I answered above that the length of stay was just right, but with half decent weather my stay would have needed to be longer as there are quite a few things to see and the area has beautiful nature ideal for walking.
Everything but especially the staff at reception. Unfortunately, they can not remember their names but are so friendly and accommodating. Rooms recently updates, I think, amazing rooftop area, free parking, and central location. I have a fondness for this hotel. I had to leave early due to family illness back in 2022, and they were amazing.
Incredibly quirky in a mountain setting but the absolute winner was the fantastic restaurant! We booked this hotel because of the write ups about the restaurant and it did not disappoint. A daily changing menu based on local produce was outstanding. We have nothing but praise for the two sisters that run the establishment!
The hotel is in a great location. Moreover, the staff was very friendly and helped us to solve some issues. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. Overall, we had a good experience and we would stay there again.
This is a beautifully decorated little house with everything that's needed,
situated in a very quiet area in walking distance from Biella's center.
Anna and her husband are extremely friendly and helpful hosts!
