Great Town with great Iceland Sights - part of Ring Road trip and glad we made this part of the trip... Take time and do the Snaefellsnes Peninsula - many great sights...called the "mini-Iceland" because of all the things...

Ended up being out of our way on our trip on the ring road due to weather and a change in what we decided to do. Very cute little town with a delicious bakery. Didn't see much of the town really.

Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. Because of this we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. But we did have excellent takeaway fish and chips from the harbour front at Hafnarvaginn

Small, quiet (at this time of year) but very peaceful and beautiful! We caught our best show of the northern lights here! Also, would highly recommend Narfreyrarstofa for dinner, delicious and great atmosphere!

I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic architecture located on an active harbour. Beautiful ocean views from the harbour-adjacent island walk! Enjoyed soaking at the local pool/hot pots, and happy to have a bakery, grocery store, and restaurants to choose from for meals. I would gladly stay here again, or for more than one night to see some of the local museums which were closed over Easter weekend.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating.
The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They knew the area well and could recommend meals and other services to us. We ate at a very nice fish restaurant where the one waitress ran the entire restaurant efficiently and in a timely fashion.Great food
This was a late booking after we had to change our plans due to bad weather. It’s a very comfortable hotel. Our room was a good size. The breakfast - which was included - was good. They offered all day free tea, coffee and biscuits. In the evening they were happy for us to ‘picnic’ in their breakfast room. Check in was easy. But be aware the sign outside is for Hotel Breidafjordur!
Very cosy hotel, the atmosphere was very nice and their Halloween decorations were next level :)! The location is excellent because it is close enough to the nearest town but remote enough for the northern lights to be spotted!
We loved everything about this hotel, it is beautiful and functional, quiet and in a good location. Very nice staff and the breakfast was exceptional. A special point for the design, the art and quality of the interior.
The hotel restaurant was very good. One of us is gluten-free vegetarian and very happy with what he had in the restaurant. We were lucky to have rooms facing north with a great view.
