Hotel Skógá by EJ Hotels, hotel in Solheimahjaleiga

The cozy self check in Hotel Skoga is just 5 minutes walk from the spectacular Skogafoss Waterfall situated at the foot of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier.

The location was amazing, so close to the Skogafoss waterfall. Our rooms were comfortable and well stocked with clean towels and a gown incase we wanted to use the hot tub. The beds were very comfortable. It’s a self check in hotel and the key code access worked smoothly for the outer door but only one of our rooms. We called Hotel Skogafoss (as instructed) and the staff answered the phone promptly and solved the problem easily. Complimentary hot drinks were available in the reception are which was a very welcome touch. Breakfast was a good selection and the staff helpful, cooking more eggs and bacon on request as guests arrived to eat. There was homemade bread. We ate a good dinner at the nearby Hotel Skogafoss.

Farmhouse Lodge, hotel in Solheimahjaleiga

Located in Vík, 20 km from Skogafoss Waterfall, Farmhouse Lodge provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

The house and room felt very warm and comfortable; a home away from home feeling. It was beautiful and very quiet in the house when we arrived so we didn't want to make a sound! But the instructions were very clear and the room was easy to find. It was very clean, and very cozy feeling. It was fairly well equipped. We also made use of the shared kitchen in a nearby building and it looked quite unique. It was a large common area with a variety of games to play and the shared kitchen was huge and very well equipped. When we left the next day we had a chat with the host and she was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall highly recommended!

Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse is a cozy and lovely country house. We asked to give us a room with a mountain view, and the very friendly host gave us a room with beautiful windows with soothing views. We also had dinner there and every course was delicious and homemade. Same with the good and plentiful breakfast. At night we saw our first Northern Lights in Iceland and this place will remain in our hearts for that. For me it is a 10.

The staff was super nice. We really appreciated that there is a possibility to have dinner in the hotel's restaurant, as the location is, honestly, pretty much in the middle of nowhere (this is not a con, we were looking for that kind of place!). The room was clean and comfortable for the two of us. The location was ideal for visiting the black sand beach, as you can be there before the crowds start arriving.

We had a Great stay in Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse. The room was nice and clean. Timeless atmosphere and good position close to Reynisfjara Beach. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both very good and rich with local products (they have animals and Vegetable in the farm). The staff was friendly and helpful (the owner speaks italian perfectly 😉). The best stay in our trip! Really recommended!

Always wanted to stay at a place like this. Perfect location, out of nowhere, dreamy farmhouse vibe but it is actually fully functioning farm/ hotel/restaurant! Loved the goats sound to wake me up in the morning and two lovely dogs my daughter loved to hang out with. It just adds so much to beautiful Iceland trip. I’ll only stay at guesthouses if I ever return to Iceland again.

We stayed at 11 different properties during our trip to Iceland and this location was among my favorites. The design of the room was thoughtful and what made this property very comfortable was a shared kitchen/lounge that was furnished with anything that would be needed to make a quick meal/snack. The hotel was very clean and the continental breakfast was good.

The staff were very kind and attentive. I accidentally booked the room for one person when there were actually two and upon checkin, they immediately sent someone to the room to make up a second bed. Bathrooms and common area were very clean and I liked that the room had its own sink. The location was great for our road trip and only 20 min away from Vik.

I'd say this was the best place we stayed while in Iceland. The staff was great- kind and accommodating. We stayed in the guest house with a common area which was a nice change of pace. It was homey and had lots of information about Iceland, board games, and a little kitchenette. The complimentary breakfast was good and some homemade items included.

We enjoyed our stay at Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse. The breakfast was delicious, the room was clean and big enough for us and our luggage. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were provided each day. Towels, linen and a 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash were provided. You could adjust the room and washroom heating to a temperature you desired.

Last minute accommodation due to Iceland's storms. Very comfortable and well equipped. Roos on the guest house have access to a common room and kitchenette. Great to have a private ensuite. Room was well equipped with a comfortable lounge chair and table. Breakfast was superb. Setting of the guest house is gorgeous, even in the snow drifts

A great location for visiting the southern part of Iceland. It was also nice to be able to have dinner available here after a long day of touring and the food was delicious! Loved the barn converted into cozy rooms and the sitting area was a great place to hang out with other travelers and chat about our day.

Beautiful place. Remote but yet close to Vik. Good base to explore other places like Skaftafell, Jokusarlon... Comfortable rooms. Very clean. Although the bathrooms were shared, it didn't feel shared at all. The staff were friendly and the dinner was just yum! Highly recommend. We miss this place already!

We liked the location on the south coast of Iceland. It was between places that we were planning to visit. Our room was very spacious and we had a great view of the farm. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm.
