Gaukshof was just perfect for what I needed. I was travelling alone on a little photo-tour, and since the weather was amazing I spent very little time inside and used my time to explore the country. There are a lot of beautyful sights quite close and Gaukshof is also a very good starting point for trips into the Highlands. It had a fridge, microwave and a little stove top, so everything I needed for breakfast or a easy meal.
Central heating was working fine and the shower had warm water.
Checking in and out was very easy.

All round, a really good hotel for exploring the south coast. It looks quite remote on the map, but it's only about 20 mins from route 1. It has wonderful views of the Volcano range and would be fabulous for the northern lights.
