Of 5 hotels this trip, this was the best!!! I have an appreciation for detail and craftsmanship and this place missed nothing! The room was spacious, it had a great view of the lake and water fowl, the food was great, and the staff was A+. Thank you!

Location was ok. I just booked the room because it was the cheapest option that popped up on Booking.com
I was stranded and needed a room when coming from abroad. As I say it was ok and nothing more than OK. Free parking was nice.

Aside from the usual (clean room & friendly staff), my wife & I always look for the amenities included.
Our trip had a road bump & we definitely contemplated coming back into town for another stay at this hotel. Here were the 2 main things (outside of our usual).
They had a FULL gym & when I say FULL i mean squat rack, multiple benches, full set of weights going over 100lbs (in kg), treadmills, bikes, machines for everything, even an assault bike! Oh and a separate yoga room!
Next was parking was free & plentiful. Parking can be annoying in the shopping areas but stress free at this hotel. Our gym standards will now be based off this hotel.

- Great location, Garyline shuttle stops right at the door.
- The room was very clean, and the staff were very friendly
Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed and the convenience of a small kitchenette and an electric kettle for tea and coffee, which was provided. A quaint pub was on the property and although they did not have a kitchen to provide dinner there were local options nearby and, they did offer and traditional Icelandic breakfast in the morning as well as offer a delicious lamb soup that we had for lunch while staying there. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. I highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in the area.
Hotel Laxness looks like a motel but has amazingly large rooms., especially for Iceland. It includes a small refrigerator, small sofa, three chairs, two small tables, a desk, two bedside tables, a shower and tub! No elevator. It's located across a parking lot from a nice KFC if you need that kind of food. It's also 250 meter from an excellent bakery. We were really pleased with our comfortable visit. The second floor has a hallway with interesting Iceland knickknacks.
We spent our first night in Iceland at Laxnes.
We left early in the morning so did not experience all of the facilities.
The staff member who checked us in was nice and welcoming.
The room was simple but spacious and clean.
There seem to be sufficient places to eat and do your grocey shopping in the area.
The location is great. Half way between the airport and Thingvellir park.
This is an extremely good value for money hotel , away from the city but within easy reach and excellent transport links. It’s basic but clean and comfortable with lovely views overlooking the mountains. It’s in an amazing location for viewing the northern lights. The staff are super friendly and helpful and I would definitely stay again
Hotel Laxnes exceeded my expectations in every way. The location was stunning, the rooms were clean and tidy, and the bar was amazing with friendly staff. Plus, the entertainment options like watching football on a big screen and playing darts and pool made the stay even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend!
Ásta was always friendly and helpful in our email exchanges. The flat was downstairs in a semi detached building, which you approached along one side. The key was in a small box outside the entrance.
The attractive township of Mosfellsbær ( Moor Mountain Township )is nearby ,with Reykjavík not far away.
Convenient stay for visiting the Golden Circle. Spacious room, decent breakfast. You can book the hot tub in the hotel, but it is quite noisy since the highway is very close and a bit pricey, so we didn't do it. Very helpful and nice stuff. Number of fast food places very close by as well as a restaurant.
Hotel Laxnes is very conveniently located to start the golden circle. It's basic but had everything we needed for our 1st night. There is a supermarket and take away restaurants located within walking distance as well as free parking. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful.
Hotel.Lacbes is clean and comfortable, with spacious.rooms and very welcoming staff. They offer an amazing breakfast selection. We were generally visiting Reykajavic City, however the jotel.is approx 20 minutes car drive and a quiet area. I would highly recommend 👌
Location is a good starting point upon arrival from KEF Airport leaving Reykjavik behind you. Room was clean and comfy. The hotel is nicely decorated too. Parking is convenient. Breakfast is very good, nice bar, good place to meet other 'explorers' of Iceland.
Relaxed quirky hotel with local character. Very comfortable room, lovely views. Close to shops, bakery and bus stops. Can book tours to pick you up from the door. Staff friendly and helpful. Answered all my emails helping me to plan the trip. Amazing holiday.
A quaint hotel containing artefacts relating to Icelandic culture, including a reference to Halldór Kiljan Laxnes, who won the Nobel prize for literature in 1955. Laxnes lived not far away on the þingvellir road.
I fill like at home, everything so authentic, real that make you happy.
I definitely recommend this hotel.
Good transport connection. Not far from Reykjavik. Big size of room. Everything nice and clean.
There was not too many restaurants around here… mostly fast food. The lamb stew offered by the hotel was fantastic! Also good to have the bar within the hotel was convenient. Definitely worth trying.
Great location off of the Ring Road and the start of the Golden Circle. That is why we chose this hotel. Otherwise, nothing special about the hotel/motel.
Good lamb stew in the hotel bar.
