Everything worked very fine, also communication with the owners via WhatsApp absolutely perfect and reliable. We didn`t meet them but they seem to be nice guys. So basically everything is within walking distance and it`s also a quiet place as the rooms are not leading to the (especially at night anyway not very frequented) road.

It was a lovely property for a family, with the kitchen and dining table a big plus for simple breakfasts. Appreciate the washer and dryer which also had washing powder conveniently provided. It was a pity that it was raining when we were there. Can imagine that sitting outside for a bbq would have been great.

Large room, very comfortable. Because it is located in the natural park the place is very tranquil and peaceful, perfect if you love being in nature. Brilliant hosts, and I do recommend having dinner in the premises, the food was lovely!
I loved this place. It was perfect location for different places to visit such as Geyster, Pingvilllar (National Park), etc. The accommodation was cosy and lovely. The owners were friendly, helpful and thoughtful; always informed me and my friends about the weather and issues with the hire car. We loved the scenery of the lake especially visiting the hot geothermal bath nearly every night. the last night before we returned to the city, we saw Northern Lights! that was the highlight of the short break. We would go back and stay there again. Loved it.

We chose it as a night stop between golden circle and Vik; village has thermal baths but we had already had thermal spa at blue lagoon, so we didn’t try these baths;

The village is not worth for a longer stay or you can find a more attractive place ;)
It was kind of ok. The absolute minimum you need to stay a night. I can live with not much comfortable shower. I get that fridge in the room can be a big deal to have. I can even stand waking up twice at night because of some very noisy party nearby... But 180 euros for such night seems to be a bit overpriced. You can get much better for that even in Iceland. You can do whole Golden Circle in one day easily (even driving from the capital) so location isn't anything special here.
We had an amazing stay at the cottage, its super clean and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. We cooked a few meals at the cottage to save some money and there's a hot plate, microwave, toaster and kettle - it was perfect! The mattress was also the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. Truly a dream and it made our holiday in Iceland all the more magical, thank you so much!
Best guesthouse in Iceland that we stayed in 7 days! Very spacious living and kitchen areas. Lots of cabinets. Nice wall to wall wood paneling including ceiling. Super clean. Close to Fontana spa and Efstidalur II, Kerid, bruarfoss and Gullfoss. Host provided milk for coffee and tea. There is even a bbq grill outdoor. Great privacy and best value for family traveling. Highly recommended!
Nice to have breakfast provided in the morning with a cute little shop to peruse. Bedrooms/bathrooms were overall comfortable and clean. Location was awesome coming from Reykjavik and spending the day at Thingvellir National Park. Cute little town with an awesome hot spring, Laugarvatn Fontana, and delicious dinner food at the hostel down the street.
My family and I booked this place last minute when we needed a place to stay while in Iceland. The host was very responsive to let us know how to retrieve the keys to get in. We got in late and went straight to bed before leaving in the morning, but no issues while we were there.
Loved the comfortable feeling of this hotel. You feel right at home with how friendly and welcoming the staff are right off the bat and how comfortable the rooms are. The rooms had everything you needed including heated floors which felt so toasty after being outside in the cold.
Great location less than a 5 minute walk from Laugarvatn Fotana and a short drive from many golden circle sites. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. We were about to have a load of laundry done for a small fee. The room and the bathroom were very spacious too.
Great location right next to a lovely hot spring and lake. The hotel is the site of an old school and has maintained many historic features which were quite lovely and cozy. Be sure to go to the pools next door for a soak after a day in the Golden Circle.
We liked the beautiful views, being near nature and close to places we wanted to visit in the Golden Circle. It was very windy some days and it was really amazing to experience the powerful Icelandic winds and see the sky clear for the stars at night!
I stayed one night on my journey around the Golden Circle. it’s walking distance to the Laugvartan Fontana hot springs and numerous restaurants. My room was clean, check in easy. And the place was affordable in a notoriously expensive country.
The location is very close to Laugarvatn Fontana Spa (3 mins walking distance).

Self check-in was very swift.
The atmosphere was very peaceful and calm which was just what we were looking for. The location is amazing and we liked that it was an interesting, historic building rather than an average hotel. The lamb steak was delicious.
We enjoyed our country retreat among the sheep and birds. Our cottage was clean and cozy. It had everything we needed and the quietude of Laugarvatn provided a nice contrast to Reykjavik (although we enjoyed them both).
This place is a real hidden gem! The rooms were gorgeous and the team fantastic! Will be recommending this place to all and anyone travelling to Iceland as it’s truly exceeded expectations.
Beautiful cottage with stunning view from the terrace. Also the surrounding area is worth it, especially Laugarvatn Fontana and Þingvellir. It would be nice to come back someday.
