This cabin is tucked back within the trees, very private, and super cozy. The interior is warm and welcoming, with lots of finished and unfinished wooden floors and walls. Very well appointed kitchen with everything you need to cook any meal. Great location along the Golden Circle with easy access to some local hot springs, hikes, and restaurants. Comfortable beds, quiet location, highly recommend.

Loved the old school-house feel. Super convenient to walk down to the hot springs just downhill. All the communal rooms for dining and hanging out made this place feel extra homey. The staff we met were amazing and welcoming.

I had a wonderful stay in Laugarvatn! The location is perfect for exploring the Golden Circle, and it was so peaceful and serene around the house as well. The accommodation was cozy and clean, with all the necessary amenities.

I loved this place. It was perfect location for different places to visit such as Geyster, Pingvilllar (National Park), etc. The accommodation was cosy and lovely. The owners were friendly, helpful and thoughtful; always informed me and my friends about the weather and issues with the hire car. We loved the scenery of the lake especially visiting the hot geothermal bath nearly every night. the last night before we returned to the city, we saw Northern Lights! that was the highlight of the short break. We would go back and stay there again. Loved it.

We chose it as a night stop between golden circle and Vik; village has thermal baths but we had already had thermal spa at blue lagoon, so we didn’t try these baths;
There are at least three places for dinner :)
The village is not worth for a longer stay or you can find a more attractive place ;)

Extremely quiet place.. not much to do. If you want a quiet place to recharge and do nothing, this is your place. We stayed 2 nights which is maybe too much for this little spot. Enjoyed onion ring burgers at Goodburger!

My guesthouse was comfortable and pleasant. I wished I had more time to enjoy the Fortuna. My hike at 10pm was delightful. I cannot recall ever smelling fresher air. The lupines, birches and pines were lovely. It was easy to get to all of the sites on the Golden Circle from there. Would gladly go back.
It was wonderful to be able to easily walk from the hotel to Laugarvatn Fontana (where we spent a pleasant evening). I was able to borrow a hair dryer from the front desk. The room was also very clean, guests were quiet, and the beds were comfortable. You may want to request a room facing the lake to get the best view. Ours faced the road, but even with the windows open, the light traffic wasn't very loud.
Best guesthouse in Iceland that we stayed in 7 days! Very spacious living and kitchen areas. Lots of cabinets. Nice wall to wall wood paneling including ceiling. Super clean. Close to Fontana spa and Efstidalur II, Kerid, bruarfoss and Gullfoss. Host provided milk for coffee and tea. There is even a bbq grill outdoor. Great privacy and best value for family traveling. Highly recommended!

It is close to many natural sites , and to take a walk to a nice restaurant - Lindin, and to Fontana for soup and bread. The area is stunning. Beds were comfortable. Nice view from window. exceptionally clean.
Nice to have breakfast provided in the morning with a cute little shop to peruse. Bedrooms/bathrooms were overall comfortable and clean. Location was awesome coming from Reykjavik and spending the day at Thingvellir National Park. Cute little town with an awesome hot spring, Laugarvatn Fontana, and delicious dinner food at the hostel down the street.
Charming cottage in the middle of the meadows with grazing sheep and singing birds. The cottage looks small from the outside but in fact it's a full-fledged hotel room of a good size with a fully equipped kitchenette and a comfortable bathroom. The cottage is nicely furnished, very clean. Would like to stay again.
My family and I booked this place last minute when we needed a place to stay while in Iceland. The host was very responsive to let us know how to retrieve the keys to get in. We got in late and went straight to bed before leaving in the morning, but no issues while we were there.
We liked the beautiful views, being near nature and close to places we wanted to visit in the Golden Circle. It was very windy some days and it was really amazing to experience the powerful Icelandic winds and see the sky clear for the stars at night!
The location is very close to Laugarvatn Fontana Spa (3 mins walking distance).
The room is very spacious and all the amenities were available.

We enjoyed our country retreat among the sheep and birds. Our cottage was clean and cozy. It had everything we needed and the quietude of Laugarvatn provided a nice contrast to Reykjavik (although we enjoyed them both).
This place is a real hidden gem! The rooms were gorgeous and the team fantastic! Will be recommending this place to all and anyone travelling to Iceland as it’s truly exceeded expectations.

Beautiful cottage with stunning view from the terrace. Also the surrounding area is worth it, especially Laugarvatn Fontana and Þingvellir. It would be nice to come back someday.
Has a mini-fridge so possible to keep some things cold. Beds were very comfortable and best near-blackout curtains we experienced excluding hotels by the airport.
