The hostel is easily located. The cleanliness is top notch. Super easy to check-in. Parking is right in front of the main door. Pantry is fully equipped. Bathroom/shower is sufficient for both floors and squeaky clean. Just that the Quad room is abit small.

High quality apartment, beds great etc.

High quality apartment, beds great etc. Problem was getting there was a hassel of the off road time with very difficult roads. Too expensive given that. And it was a construction site, per the picture out of our window.

There was a lot of noise.

There was a lot of noise. We weren't on the main building and when people walked in the hallway you got a lot of noises. Also the fan in the toilet turned on every time you turned on the lights and it stayed on for 15 minutes after.

We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive for groceries and I suggest you buy them in Reykjavik or at a larger town on the way to the south.

Cute small town with a pretty waterfall at the top of the hill. A couple of restaurants and a small market were easily available. The hotel we stayed at was outside of the town itself but was an easy drive away. The town was also close to many beautiful sights, including Vatnajokull National Park and Diamond Beach.

Great location, especially if you are in Iceland only for couple of days, this would be one of the best choices. From this location, you can make several amazing trips to the surrounding locations. The most interesting places offered by southern Iceland are reacheble from this area as a "base camp".

The staff at the hotel was very very friendly. We arrived quite late around 11 and had to leave early the next day for an excursion at Skaftafell, so they asked the kitchen to prepare some to-go bags for us to take away. The rooms themselves were comfy. We didn't take advantage of the remote location (saw northern lights on the way there!), but can imagine it being a wonderful location for observing northern lights on a clear day. When we left the next morning we saw that the surroundings were stunning.

Lovely cottages located in an amazing surrounding just one minute drive from Fjaðrárgljúfur. Very peaceful and quiet. Coffee/tee maker available. Every cottage has a llittle terrace to enjoy the evening on. The stuff was unbelievably nice and kind and definitely made our stay special. The food (dinner and breakfast) was simply delicious - for me the best grilled lamb I've tried on Iceland

Good location in busy South Iceland right next to a beautiful waterfall and a seperate excellent restaurant. Not as much value for money as in other parts of Iceland but the south is expensive and in demand. Our room was clean and comfortable if very small, with a view of a paddock of horses. Breakfast is a pre-prepared tray with plenty of food. Not fancy but good.

Amazing location and views of mountains, glaciers. The individual units were so modern and well done with thoughtful touches throughout. Small kitchen and fridge as well. We had dinner at the restaurant on site which was delicious. Breakfast in the AM was self serve but had more choices than other breakfasts we have had in Iceland.

We had an amazing time at Hotel Klaustur. Here the guest is king and we felt very welcome. The breakfast offers a variety of delicious bread, rolls, fresh fruits, skyr, etc. - so good to start with for a new experience in Iceland. Many thanks to the staff of Hotel Klaustur.

This place is not fancy but we really loved it! The rooms were very clean and had everything you need. Nice breakfast options on site. Great location for a stop on our trip across southern Iceland. We chose this place specifically because they had a triple room as an option.

We were upgraded to the Magma Hotel, to a room with a big glass sliding door facing a mild show of the Northern Lights that went on all night. As a result I can't really comment on the Landbrot Guesthouse, but it is in the same location which was wonderful!
