Great scenery all around, and it was close to some of the must-see destinations in southern Iceland without being too far from the Capital. Great place to stay for the price, and everything was clean.

Wonderful Hidden Gem of a Hotel and Breakfast was OUTSTANDING
Rooms are quiet and comfortable and well maintained and upgraded.
Shower was a little tight and needs some update to make a little safer for people stepping in and out. A grab bar or better flooring would help.
But overall WELL DONE

Hvolsvöllur is a small town (village?), but you can find restaurants, petrol station, supermarket here, therefore ideal base of excursions -for instance to the Golden Circle (North West) or Vik region (South West).
Nevertheless there is a very special facility, the Lava Centre which much be visited definitely.

The owners were very friendly.
The owners were very friendly. They help us even at midnight. The apartment was big, clean, enough for 6 people. The place was near by the Golden circle, Black beach and other attractions. Definitely recomend it.

The proximity to the ferry for the Westman Islands was the reason we chose this property - it was only 10mins drive from the ferry terminal. Additionally, the property is 1km from Seljalandfoss, meaning you can visit away from the busiest times of day. The cabins were literally on the ring road, making it easy to find but no need to worry about noise. A very good place to stay the night and enjoy all the amazing attractions between Seljanlandfoss and Vik.

The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop.
The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop. The exhibits are interactive and so well done, all ages will appreciate learning more about Iceland's volcanos.
We heard that there were tours for hiking out of this area, but the weather was way too extreme for us to check that out.
Even greater than expected, everything was of very high construction quality, very spacious room, also a spacious shower in the private bathroom, giant bed, very practical arrangement of all the things. Felt like a 4 star hotel, except that this place is in the middle of nowhere (which is a very positive thing, everything super quiet and you're close to nature). Good variety of breakfast, flexible check in and check out. Good self adjustable heating.
Hotel operates mainly for tour buses and operators and they are the main customers. The rooms which are offered through Booking.com and such websites are worst of the worst. They allotted two rooms to us (family of four and paid for two rooms) which were less than 10 ft away from a public hot tub. No privacy at all and I called Booking.com and sent them pictures but they haven’t yet resolved my issue. Please stay away from this hotel at all cost.
I stayed in Cottage #1 with two friends, and it was a perfect base of operations for some exploration in the southern parts of Iceland. The setting is lovely and quiet, the cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our two night stay. We made use of the kitchen in the cottage, so did not purchase the breakfast that was available in the guesthouse, but it was nice to have that option.
The location was great. The property was very nice. A cabin in the south of Iceland is nothing to complain about. The inflated bubble room would've been great if we had better weather at night. Cloud cover kept us from seeing the Northern Lights. You can't control the weather.
The view outside was AMAZING! No complaints. Just nature's beauty at its finest, no matter which direction you looked.
This is a beautiful, cosy and comfortable place in the middle of Hvolsvöllur. The staff is friendly and helpful, the place was spotlessly clean, and it was really well stocked with everything you might need. I cant find any faults with this place at all, we slept really well and were very happy with everything. It's a really good place to stop while traveling Iceland.
amazing experience!
if you are wondering if you should stay at Midgard or not I would 100% recommend it. we watched the Northern lights from the hotel room. the hot tub is a great addition to the experience. we had dinner at the restaurant and the lamb was delicious. on the check out morning we talked to Gina(adorable lady) and she gave us loads of tips.
The hotel was amazing! The rooms were nice and cost! The hot tub available at all times! Breakfast was super delicious! Everything was freshly baked and the display was awesome! I have travelled to many coutriea around thw world, but this must have been the best breakfast! Thank you and I will recommend it to my friends!
Very nice locations for exploring southern Iceland. The cabin is clean and tidy. We met the cleaning crew and they were very helpful. They knew that we would be staying for another night so they emptied our garbage and refilled the coffee. I would recommend this cabin if you are going in Winter time and with kids.
The Hotel Hvolsvollur was like a nice chain hotel in the US. Our room had a private bathroom and was comfortable, quiet, and clean. Parking was free in the lot. A very nice, included breakfast was served with many choices. The restaurant served dinner also, but there were other restaurant options in the area.
I had a very enjoyable 3 night stay close to several attractions. My bedroom was very comfortable and they provided a hearty breakfast every morning. The hotel staff were very helpful too and helped me plan my stay in Westman Islands. All in all, a great stay during my 2 week Ring Road trip in south Iceland.
The apartment was excellently situated, and in a great location for exploring south west Iceland. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Good restaurants were also within walking distance. The hosts were also extremely accommodating and easy to deal with.
The breakfast was very nice, the surroundings are beautiful even though we were not lucky with the weather.
The staff was super helpful and the hotel was beautiful and cosy.
All details were thought of in the interior and spa was super nice even though it could have been a bit cleaner.
One of the most unique places you'll stay in Iceland. The pods are very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with equipment and utensils. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Make sure you have a flashlight to get there during the night.
Rental is a full house lost in the Icelandic countryside, surrounded by horses. Beautiful view of Vestmannaeyjar from the house. Very quiet and practical with three bedrooms, a bathroom and a big living room and kitchen. I recommend it :)
The view from the hotel was amazing. There is a beautiful mountain behind it.
The towel and sheets were very cool.
The room was little bit small but it was enough for us.
There are two dogs, they were so kind and smart.
I loved the open field view that surrounded the hotel. The staff was quite friendly. They serve food and there also a couple nice restaurants nearby. Super convenient stay when going through the ring road.
We loved the location of the hotel, it felt very private and serene. The veranda and bar area were very cozy and inviting. We loved the newly renovated rooms, we get so at home and it was hard to leave
