Great location to tour the Golden Circle. Convenient to have a restaurant downstairs and a grocery store within walking distance. Host was very personable and helpful.
Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far...
Hveragerdi is like the story of Goldilocks - not too far away from the major cities and airport in KEF / Reykjavik. Not too remote nor too busy. Plenty of dining options and bars and yet not crowded. Not too quiet nor too bright with city lights. Almost the perfect spot if you want to explore anything in Thingvellir National Park. And, close enough to some easily accessible spots if you are hunting for the elusive Northern Lights.
Reasons to stay at Hveragerdi: 1) You just landed in Iceland and don't want to drive too far fighting jet lag. (2) You want to have a base for exploring Thingvellir / Golden Circle (3) You want to step away from the busy Reykjavik and also have options for restaurants, bars and bakeries (4) You want to stay at a spot not too far from KEF airport to catch a flight the next day
Reasons not to stay at Hvergerdi: (1) Your main points of interest are farther south and southeast Iceland (Vik / Jokulsarlon / Hofn) or farther west and north Iceland (Snaefellsness / Western fjords / Akureyri)

A great base to explore South West Iceland, the Golden Circle, and other sights. The little town is easily walkable. We ate at Matkráin which was recommended in the information pack at our accommodation and were not disappointed by the Danish smørrebrød. We also tried The Greenhouse which had a really good atmosphere and is set up as a food hall.

The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland.
The location is good at the beginning of South Iceland. Everything we wanted to see was within 1h 40min drive. Still the small town has a big shop and the basic services that smaller places further out don't have (except Selfoss)

This location was truly magical.
This location was truly magical. It was quiet but close enough to amenities. The walks around our hotel were beautiful, including the walk to the village. Nearby you can do the mega zipwire and the hike to the hot river. We really enjoyed both of these activities. The town of Selfoss is busier and has some great restaurants, it's around 10 minute drive. We also visited the Lava Tunnel which is about 15 minutes away. However, this was pricey for what it was. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money as Iceland is expensive.

Great place to visit.
Great place to visit. Excellent hike to hot springs and geo thermal river for bathing - wasn't spoilt by being busy.
Are out one night at the pizza and brewery in town which was reasonably priced, delicious pizza and lively atmosphere.
Cookies, coffee, and tea right upon entry, the staff was kind and rooms spacious and comfortable. Adjacent to the horse stables and riding facility, this was a perfect location to get in some Icelandic horseback riding, hiking to the Reyjadalur Thermal Hot Springs, and dining at the Ingolfsskali Viking Restaurant before heading back towards Keflavik airport the next morning. I particularly loved how our room had views of the horses in the field and was so near the hot tub. Beds are with Hastens mattresses.
This was a delightful hotel. We loved the space and that we were able to play games together in the evening. We really liked the pool and hot tubs too. Great breakfast, friendly staff and super location - we loved the fact that the supermarket was over the road and the food hall. We also enjoyed exploring the town and walking up to the geysers. Overall incredible and we will certainly recommend to friends and family.
The apartment was spacious and beautifully designed - apparently one of the owners is a well known interior designer and she has demonstrated her talents with these apartments. Lots of additional touches such as bathrobes, extra towels and flip flops for the hot tubs and steam room. We stayed in some lovely hotels in Iceland but this was the best value and extremely comfortable.
Loved Inni Apartments! Our favorite place we stayed in Iceland. Apartments were spacious and well decorated, had a cute kitchen, comfy bed and nice water pressure in the shower. Free parking right there too. We didn't use it but there was a hot tub. Also very clean! It's also in a very small and cute town, walkable to a great food hall at one of the hotels nearby.
The hotel design is excellent. Great concept. really love the look. The keyless entry is a dream. store(s) are great. Did not eat at any of the eateries. Had a drink in the bar, which seemed to be full of locals. Our 27yo daughter traveling with us was over the moon with this hotel.
The main building - the restaurant has the best look, and the breakfast was rich. The hotel is located near a river - great to look at from the balcony or the hot tub, located near the smoking valley (Reykjadalur). Sitting in the hot tub in freezing weather was a unique experience.
Gem of a hotel in an unbelievably gorgeous location
Staff super friendly and helpful
Breakfast delicious
Although restaurant not open in the evening, just a short and pleasant walk along the river into town where there are many restaurants to choose from!
The self check in process was seamless. When the specific room type we were looking for was not available, the hotel owner even offered for us to receive complimentary breakfast at a nearby hotel to make up the difference. She's absolutely a joy to work with!
Wow! The Superior Apartment was gorgeous. We loved our stay there. My mom also had her own separate apartment that was quite spacious and pleasant. Right next door to a geothermal park. There's a hotel nearby with a nice restaurant.
Clean and nice place in Hveragerdi near Reykjadalur Hot Springs. We didn't see anyone from the staff but everything worked out well. Parking by the entrance, keys and door code as instructed.
Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast at the Eldhestar Hotel close by. Perfect place to stay when we were going on a riding tour 9 am. The stable and horses were just out the front door.
Although we are not “ horsey “ people, we enjoyed the good vibes of all the enthusiastic riders in the hotel. The decor on the theme of horses was also very pleasant.
