Staying in this rural, picturesque guesthouse was an amazing experience. The host Seymour was so service minded and welcoming. He made us a lovely dinner and breakfast with local specialities. The view was fantastic and the trail close by. We felt spoiled throughout the visit. A quaint guesthouse that I strongly recommend.

It was quiet and clean location l. Perfect home from home to crash from seeing the sights along from Keflavík airport. The hot tub was great after a long day hiking Glymur! 😊

The hotel's structure is solid, and the small gym is very handy, useful and is open 24/7. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall cleanliness was good (although with some problems, explained below). Breakfast was great, with good variety and quality.

Husafell is a really great city. We travelled around the entine Iceland and we could easilu have skipped a few nights on the road especiallly in the east just to have some few more nights in Husafell. From here you can reach many attractions in just minutes to an hour in the car, and the scenery around Husafell is just amazing.

Húsafell is a paradise for me!
Húsafell is a paradise for me! Set out in such a peaceful setting in Western Iceland, you cannot beat it. You might think that you are on you way to the middle of nowhere on your drive out, but that is also the beauty of it. Crisp clean mountain air, the quiet of the Icelandic countryside and the clearest water in streams that you have ever seen.
The numerous hiking trails around Húsafell will surely keep you occupied and fit while on your visit, because you will see so many amazing things while on each trail that you want to keep on going.
This is also a great place to go to just relax. My wife and I came out here right after our wedding to unwind and it was perfect! Both of us got the much needed rest that follows a destination wedding. The first night we relaxed at the Hotel Húsafell and enjoyed a wonderful dinner in their restaurant and then took a very relaxing walk in on the trails surrounding it afterwards. We also enjoyed the Bruaras Cafe in the GeoCenter for locally prepared and sourced fare. Try their Icelandic meatballs! You cannot just have one order of them!
Also in the area you have the tours of both the glacier and lava cave. These are some great guided activities you can arrange through your hotel. I also recommend going over to the Barnafoss falls in the area for some amazing waterfalls.
