Secluded high in the nature park with views over rolling hills, mountains and a distant glacier and volcano!
Sitting on the private patio or in the wood fired hot tub enjoying that view was truly memorable and something we will not forget.
The house was truly luxury - every thing needed to live there let alone spend a night or two; laundry facilities, lovely bathroom, indoor sauna with separate shower, two large bedrooms and a huge open-plan living space and kitchen!
Truly gutted we only spent a night there - cannot wait to return!

The peaceful and quiet location was so lovely after a day's sightseeing. The waterfall only a short walk away was certainly a highlight. To be able to enjoy a waterfall with literally no other people in sight was incredible. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever had on a trip away. Kitchen facilities were more then adequete for preparing meals.

Staff were very hospitable. Free onsite parking. Kettle with tea and coffee in bungalow. Common lounge and dining area looked stylishly modern and inviting but we didn't get to use them. Just around the corner from the spectacular Fjadrargljufur canyon!

Close to the ring road, very nice place to stay for one night. We were lucky - there were no other guest, so we had the nicest room with amazing view and a kitchen plus bathroom to ourselves. Bed was comfy, everything was clean and nicely prepared. It might be a good place to hunt for aurora in darker months (although the road to the guest house might be tricky in winter). Room was quite spacy and the kitchen had everything we needed. The area around is marvelous! A lot of birds around and a small farm. Very homey and peaceful place.

The view is indeed breath-taking. The house is very nice and included all we needed. I emailed the host a few days before arrival and got a quick response. Worked well with the key box.
Good location to visit sites in SE Iceland. The room was very clean and comfortable. The meals were amazing. Lots of variety and everything was delicious. The owner was helpful with directions to site seeing spots and always pleasant even when busy with meals or other tasks.

Hrifunes is the perfect spot to stay if you are planning one...
Hrifunes is the perfect spot to stay if you are planning one exploring Vik and Diamond Beach. The cabins are clean and the views and paths to walk are excellent. The staff is very helpful and the meals if you choose to partake are excellent. We would definitely return to Hrifunes if the opportunity ever arises.

The best place during our Icelandic trip. TOP owner very welcoming, very nice employees.
The surrounding is fantastic, so quiet and beautiful! Accommodation was perfect well designed to feel as at home , very practical, I took ideas for my new house, so well arranged with real nice taste completely in harmony with view and surrounding. So cozy.
Home made products wonderful, it was a pity to not have planned for additional nights!
I warmly recommend, don’t miss!

Great place to go.
Great place to go. Beautiful scenery and very quiet to relax. I used as a base to explore the glaciers in Iceland south and southeast. Very good to relax after a day hiking.
Need car. 30 mins after Vik and 1hr before the main glacier. Majority of restaurants and main grocery store located in Vik.
Several places to go and activities around. Hike and climb in the Glacier was the highlight of my trip.
