We stated in one of the guesthouses (the brown one). We loved the location for our planned activities in the south/eastern part of the country and the proximity to the sheep that were roaming the land right up to the guesthouse was a special addition. There was definitely enough space for our group of 5, and the 1.5 bathrooms was a bonus too. I highly recommend this place!

Great location - options are limited and expensive in this area, the price was reasonable for a basic, but very comfortable room. Staff was helpful and friendly.
The amazing location of Hotel Skaftafell provides guests with stunning views of Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjukur and the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.

Nice hotel in convenient location on road 1, especially because of its Glacier proximity. Good breakfast.
The Potato Storage is offering accommodations in Svínafell, with free WiFi and free private parking. All guest rooms in the motel are fitted with a kettle.

Comfortable apartment with good location close to beautiful sights. Coffee, tea and some spices were available for use, so no need to buy them for a short stay.
The service was very good. The reception and dining staff were amazing. Super friendly.
Dinner had good options and was delicious. Breakfast is fairly standard inclusive continental.
Location was 100/10 far more scenic than I expected. Right underneath a mountain and only a 15 min drive from guided tour meeting points and glaciers

Hof, like many places in Iceland, is not really a town but a cluster of houses at the base of a mountain; there are no restaurants or services other than the hotel. It is a convenient place to stay when visiting Skaftafell National Park.

Adventure Hotel Hof is a comfortable, clean, modest hotel. Staff and friendly and helpful, and the meals are good. Adventure Hotel Hof is well suited for the budget conscious traveller. The setting is beautiful, but the town of Hof is very very small. Blink, and you’ll miss it!

Hof seemed to be a small city, perfectly located if you are renting a car to see the area, we came from Vik, and we drove all over the Jökulsárlón and returned on the evening to the hotel. as every village in Iceland, you need to pay attention to the exit, but google map was able to find it and we didn't have any problems. We booked the 2 double room, assuming we needed to share the bathroom, little did we know that the two rooms are part of a cottage and it was like a big 2 bedroom house rather than 2 double room. Breakfast was amazing, and I suppose in aurora season, you can look up and see the northern like, but even if there is no season, waking up to the nature was mind blowing. it was perfect for us, 4 friends who did the ring road in 9 days!
We have stayed at Litla-hof before, but it has been many years. The cabin has been renovated to include heated flooring in the shower bathroom, which was a huge hit with our family! Clean, comfortable, and easy to cook and grill, we cooked our own breakfasts and dinners and ate together at the dining table. Our family enjoyed the peaceful farm setting and petting the horses was a bonus! Highly recommend.
Beautiful property with amazing amenities and also convenient to so many fantastic sites. Comfortable beds, lots of space, neat turf roof, very clean and well designed. It was easy to get to the Hjorleifshofdi hike, Skaftafell and Vatnajökull National Park, and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach all from this location. On a clear night the Milky Way and northern lights were visible.
The staff was super friendly and amazing. We booked last minute since we were on the move around the whole Iceland. We were able to get a room with a great view and a private bathroom. We booked dinner that night and the food was out of this world. We enjoyed the Icelandic food and look forward to the future. The breakfast had a large variety and was great :)
I'm quite surprised by the low reviews this place has. I think you have to understand you're booking a Guesthouse not a hotel. The hostess was lovely and welcoming, the rooms were very clean, the bathroom was newly renovated and clean. There is a fridge/microwave and paper dishes/cutlery provided. We would definitely stay here again.
We chose to stay here because it was the only thing available for our date that made sense location-wise. Didn't have high expectations going in after reading the reviews. Overall I'd say the room was decent, but the bathroom was way too small and had a strong weird odor. Breakfast was good and the Front Desk staff was nice though.
Breakfast was typical Icelandic continental with cereals, breads, cold cuts but good. Only 2 negatives about the stay: didn’t love the duvet-it was a nubby texture and no sheet to cushion it and there was only one shower for all the bedrooms so that required some juggling. I’d definitely stay here and recommend it fully.
We enjoyed our short one-night stay at Litla-Hof. Clearly it is a place better suited for longer stays and for exploring the area. The views are great, the rooms cozy and the kitchen/bathroom well equiped. I would definitely stay there again. Cleanliness was ok.
This is a truly unique way to experience the beauty of Iceland and specifically the Fjallsarlon lagoon. Our guide took us on a private tour of the lagoon on our way to the Aurora Hut. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with champagne and a spectacular view.
Comfortable rooms with a sink in them! Nice beds, clean shower with good water pressure and hot water! And a nice little common area with free coffee and tea! Also cute location! Right near one of the only 6 turf roof churches remaining in Iceland!
Location was convenient but private, up on the hill with a view. Great hot tub. Wonderful decor, appliances, furniture. Roomy. Very responsive host. If we ever come back to the south of Iceland I would go out of my way to stay here again.
The hotel is located near Skaftafell and is a good base for visiting the park, and the setting is lovely. The rooms are cozy and clean, and the restaurant serves both breakfast and dinner, making it a very easy place to stay.
A bit tiny but cozy room, quite and lovely surroundings. Less than minute walk to the beautiful turf church of hof, location between Skaftafell and ice lagoons area. Breakfast was nice.
- comfy bed
- surroundings and great position between attractions on southeast.
- clean room
- cold area so no warmth from earth like west part of Iceland = no smell of rotten eggs.
