Jadar Farm, hotel in Fossatún

Set in Bær in the West Iceland region, Jadar Farm offers accommodation with free private parking. This villa provides a garden.

A small gem for anyone who needs a base to visit Snaefellsnes Peninsula or the Golden Circle. The property is a separate house located on the farm. It has a parking spot, naturally heated floors, 2 bedrooms and a living room. Very spacious for 4 people. We loved the hot tub, which Eirikur thoughtfully prepared for us so that it was ready upon arrival, and we and the kids loved selecting a few tomatoes and cucumbers for our dinner (the cherry tomatoes are absolutely delicious). Eirikur even graciously offered to pull a cable from his shed so that we could charge our car! There is even a tiny tiny hotspring right next to the property!

Hotel Varmaland, hotel in Fossatún

Hotel Varmaland features a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Varmaland. The hotel provides both free WiFi and free private parking.

This was the best hotel during our one week stay in Iceland. It is new and very clean. The breakfast has great choices, also scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage (not usual in Iceland) The dinner was also great in the restaurant with beautiful views. The room price was really good compared to other hotels. There is a nice goat farm near, it is worth to visit. If you are in this area, this is the hotel to stay in.

    Place was pleasant.

Place was pleasant. Great play area for kids, meal in restaurant was really good, typically pricey (but that's Iceland) but simple, really tasty fare. Troll Garden was a nice addition. Just a pity my stay was ruined by smashing my face into the extremely dangerous low shower-block awning. This is very very dangerous and breaks building standards. I suffered severe swelling at the top of my head, a gash on my forehead and a swollen cheek. Before you ask, it was first thing in the morning and no alcohol was involved. If anything I concede tiredness may have been a contributing factor. However, this is totally unacceptable. I did consider seeking legal advice but fortunately my injuries healed (by the time I got home ten days later). I fear, however, if this dangerously low awning was combined with an inebriated person running, it could result in terrible injury. The owner is aware how low and dangerous this awning is. Hopefully he will do something about it before someone is seriously injured and takes him to the cleaners.

The location was great, not too far off main roads (paved road all the way there), but in an open beautiful and quiet spot. The waterfalls rt behind the hotel were an easy, fun and much needed spot to take in local beauty and stretch the legs. The trail of troll folklore was great for all ages as well. Three hot tubs available w water temps around 101. Most notably the dinner was outstanding! The homemade stews and soups were outstanding and reasonably priced, the dinning area along w music from a turn table brought our meal completely together. Everything, from being allowed to check in a little early to still getting access to the breakfast beyond their designated breakfast hours was superb! Rooms were very modern and super clean, beds surprisingly comfortable. We definitely wld recommend you stay here!!
