All round, a really good hotel for exploring the south coast. It looks quite remote on the map, but it's only about 20 mins from route 1. It has wonderful views of the Volcano range and would be fabulous for the northern lights. The staff were lovely and the room comfortable.

Gaukshof was just perfect for what I needed. I was travelling alone on a little photo-tour, and since the weather was amazing I spent very little time inside and used my time to explore the country. There are a lot of beautyful sights quite close and Gaukshof is also a very good starting point for trips into the Highlands. It had a fridge, microwave and a little stove top, so everything I needed for breakfast or a easy meal. Central heating was working fine and the shower had warm water. Checking in and out was very easy.

Way too expensive for what it is. Not even scrambled eggs or fried eggs for breakfast. Looks all a bit dated. Bathrooms are not in line with rest of property. Staff was super friendly
