The location is beautiful, and the house has everything you need, cozy, but spacious.
The kitchen has everything you need, even extra oil, spices, pasta, coffee, in case you miss something. We have not used the gas grill outside though.
And the living room has breath taking views, and on top of that, the hut-tub outside.
Located in Akranes in the West Iceland region, Rustic Farmhouse - Narfasel provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The property features sea and mountain views.

I enjoyed this place twice, once on my own and again with my boyfriend; I specially appreciated the countryside (such a good spot for Northern Lights, beautiful both in winter and summer) and the services provided by the structure. The house was always clean and comfortable.

The hotel has a great location at the harbour, within short walking distance to several restaurants. Lots of cosy and comfortable lounges for guests to socialize after a long day of travel. The staff was friendly and polite. The breakfast was very good. Loved the welcome smorgasbord in our suite.

Location excellent for bars, harbour and shops. Room a good size and light and airy. Breakfast had superb selection and staff were very observant topping up when items reduced. Reception staff great.
The Guðlaug hot tub on the beach is a 'must-visit'.
The Guðlaug hot tub on the beach is a 'must-visit'. If the outdoor location is a bit wild for you, it is also situated right next to the sports centre which has a heated pool.
Also; whilst I drove through the tunnel to get to Akranes, I recommend using the scenic route to get back. It does add a bit of time to your journey, but the landscape and scenery is fantastic.

Very nice small town, in 40 min from Reykjavik and near to many attractions in Snaefellsnes Peninsula in Iceland, so it's perfect location to visit many interesting places around.
The place to be in Akranes, for sure is a Lighthouse, since 1944, unique in Iceland which is possible to visit inside, climbing to the top. From the top you can see a beautiful panorama of 360° , this wonderful and romantic place offer some exhibitions and local music concerts.
Climbe the Lighthouse!
After climbing Lighthouse, may be you will be a little bit hungry, so have a nice lucnh or a dinner in Gamla Kaupfélagið can be very good idea. Very nice ambience, good local foog and local beer.
Enjoy Akranes in every season!

Akranes is some distance from Reykjavik, maybe an hours...
Akranes is some distance from Reykjavik, maybe an hours drive through a 6 km underground tunnel or 2 hours around the coast road. Don’t be put off though - the coast road leads through stunning views, there’s no delays or queues, its well maintained and passable in extreme weather- it’s a fantastic journey in itself. I wouldn’t say that public transport is particularly good though. There are no trains and buses are infrequent
Akranes itself is a quiet residential area with an interesting fishing history. There are a few grocery stores, at least one open till late and the local pool is decent, maybe not to the standard of some of the other local spas and pools nearer the capital, but certainly better than Council facilities where I live.

Quaint little seaside town with some interesting history. There are limited dining opportunities but
Gamla Kaupfélagið is quite good with fresh local caught seafood dishes that will surely please. Drive the tunnel under the bay but don't miss the drive around bay on Hwy 47.

Lovely town and great base to explore the beautiful Western Region of Iceland. Also easy access to Reykjavík. Good cinema (Biohollin), lovely new restaurant (Gamla Kaupfélagiðand) and a documentary film festival (IceDocs) in mid-July. A trip to the hot pool by the football stadium and the lighthouse are highly recommended.
Very clean, spacious and lovely furnished lower part of a house where the hosts live upstairs. Coffee, tea and condensed milk were as much available as recommendations for exciting tourist destinations, shampoo, different cleaners and towels which even were washed & renewed during our stay. Enough spark for parking more than one car. The hosts were really hospitable and easy to get in touch with. If possible we will come to Akranes and book this accommodation again one day. Thanks for everything.
Very comfortable, nice bed, great couch for lounging, kitchen had good set of basic supplies. Bought food from the grocery store in town. Very sweet and friendly dog. Easy check-in instructions provided. Absolutely beautiful view in all directions. Saw a double rainbow right before midnight—amazing! Great launching point for driving around west Iceland.
Everything about this Cabin and location was just perfect. I have been to Iceland many times and it can be hard to find a property like this. If you want to get away from it all to relax and explore Iceland's West and South West then this is the perfect location.
The hosts were amazing to deal with as well. I would definitely book this property again.
Coffee and tea all day in the kitchen. Big kitchen, too, and a large sitting room. Self checkin was super easy, and the location was great. Excellent value for Iceland, one of the best I found in the entire country. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you need a place to crash within a few hours of Reykjavik.
it central to Akranes and compared to most other accommodation, it had breakfast included but the one thing that added to the value of the property was the hospitality we received from the host. this was absolutely phenomenal and we highly recommend this to anyone visiting Iceland / Akranes
The instruction was very kind with all information I needed including getting into my room in detail.
Me and my wife enjoyed the coffee the guesthouse provided. Might not be same for others, but it was best morning coffee we had in Iceland for me and my wife :)
Well equipped guesthouse with a small briefcase full of woolen mittens and hats from a local producer that you can purchase. It's located below the mountains where you can hike or visit the Akranesviti lighthouse. Easy self check-in with clear instructions.
It is shared one, but we had the property to ourselves as there were no other guests. Nice owners who gave us short introduction to Akranes and what to do there. Very clean and also a good equipped kitchen were you can cook. All you need for one night.
Our favorite stay in iceland! The house is cute, cozy and very well-furnished. The kitchen is well-equipped.
Everything was true to the pictures. Overall, We had a wonderful night here and would definitely come back if we visited Iceland again!
A lovely place to stay on our last night in Iceland. Nice layout of the living spaces with interesting books about the local area. A great evening spent with my family. I would have loved to have spent more time there.
such a cute house, and very very friendly owners. No complaints about anything. Everything about the home was very accommodating, and easy. Very clean and laid out well, one of the best stays we have had in Iceland!
There is a nice parking lot across the hotel. There are two kitchens en a few toilets. Near a gas station. It is only a short walk from a supermarket and a cute ice cream store.
This was the best property we stayed in Iceland. The hosts couldn’t of been nicer. They have free laundry, bicycles and a huge accommodation. If you’re in the area stay here!
basic guesthouse stay - no breakfast, but as I was leaving early for the aiport that didn't matter. Very confortable room in a nice location outside Akranes
