Poreč is an ideal destination for those travelling alone,...
Poreč is an ideal destination for those travelling alone, with family or with friends. This town is conducive to relaxation from everyday life full of noise and tasks to be done. Beautiful and sunny weather is guaranteed, so I especially recommend this place to people who live in countries where cloudy and rainy weather prevails. In Poreč you can find many restaurants with traditional Croatian dishes, such as Ćevapčići and pasta with truffles. I recommend visiting places such as the old town, Jama-Grotta Baredine and a boat cruise with dolphin watching. Additionally, you can visit cities such as Rovinj and Pula.

Poreč is a nice old town with great energy.
Poreč is a nice old town with great energy. The town is rather small, but full of people on the Friday. The sea is crystal clear. Only downside is that the beaches are rocky and it is easy to cut your foot on them. Istria itself is rather boring, I like old towns and mountains, I am not a person that would prefer staying on a beach all day and although there is Rovinj and Pula which are great, for a person like me, the southern part of Croatia is more attractive. I was travelling for a karate competition and if I did not spend a half a day in an airconditioned sports hall I would be bored in Istria even the 4 days we were there. So all in all, I liked the location, but staying there longer is not for me. But the sports hall is luxurious, spacious, airconditioned and the competition had quality organisation.

There is lots of things to do in Poreč. It's a lovely town with strong italian influence and the food is amazing. The access to the sea is sometimes difficult, so you need to pick the right spot. There is always something to do, so you will not get bored.

It's easy to walk round Porec - though it's a bit of a maze, so if you see something you like in a shop buy it there and then, or you might not find the shop again! We went on an evening boat trip with the company Monvi Tours - this was excellent - very friendly staff, and we even saw dolphins! We'd also recommend the Barolin Wine and Cheese Bar on Nikola Tesla street - for delicious Malvazija wine and a good range of fabulous Istrian cheeses. And excellent Istrian olive oil.

City Poreč is so beautifull city, and so diversable.
City Poreč is so beautifull city, and so diversable. You can have sporty vacation for all the beautiful with bike lanes between Green ian Blue Lagoon, so many walking paths under pine trees, numberous activities. You can be at the beach with lots of activities and loud music, or you can quickly find a quiet privat peace of beach, it really offers you what your heart desires. For the best local food experiance, I suggest Bacchus Vinoteka, in the old part of town.

Our initial impression was negative.
Our initial impression was negative. So much traffic and tourists, and a lot of industry put us off. But the old town blew us away! So full of character, ambience and history. Highly recommended, even if it's just for a day trip.
I went there with my dog and we felt so welcome. Porec in general is extremely friendly with pets and they are welcome almost everywhere, i enjoyed that a lot! With booking a Valamar Hotel you can travel by ferry to the littel island where Isabella resort is and they have a pet friendly beach and even a littel dogpark there <3 My favourite part of the day ist breakfast and let me tell you- it was exceptional and i enjoyed it to the fullest!
The apartment was beautiful and just as the pictures. It was hot outside so having 2 air condition units that worked perfectly saved our trip. Nice size beds and comfortable. The family that owns the unit live in the same buildning. It was easy to get help from them or the travel agency when we had questions. Perfectly located in old Town porec. Life, restaurants and shops right outside. Apartment was well isolated, so it was not noisy.
We caught a bus from Venice to Porec as the car rental company wouldn't allow us to bring the car into Croatia. Thr bus stopped next door to Hotel Porec, we stayed the night then picked up another car from Sixt which is just behind the hotel as well. Very convenient!
The room was small (expected in Europe) but clean and comfortable.
Buffet breakfast was included. I'm gluten free and a staff member brought me out fresh GF bread.
By far the best breakfast I tried in the city of Poreč. Staff is very friendly and proffessional. Rooms are clean and WiFi is really good. Their friendly and always smiling staff represent the very best idea of how small/family hotel should operate.
food and staff were great, the location of the hotel, 10min walk from Porec is perfect and that you can go to the Diamond Hotel and enjoy their live music nights.
