Hotel is beautiful with wonderful amenities walking distance to the boardwalk type space, local shops and restaurants which made it a convenient place for us. Private parking space was very valuable as it’s a busy area and parking can be tough.

The location by the sea is excellent, but there is a problem with the bathroom: the water pressure in the shower is very weak and the fittings are very old. The price for the services is very high. The breakfast is very good; the breakfast supervisor is wonderful, kind, and lovely.

Absolute luxury! Our room was immaculate and elegant, with a stunning view. The staff are like none other! Everyone we came in contact with was engaging, friendly and helpful. A huge shoutout to Antonio in the restaurant. We ate dinner there several times and everything was spectacular. Antonio knows his wine, food and craft cocktails and his recommendations are solid! Breakfast is a feast and also excellent.
The salt water pool is heated and because this is a small hotel, it was not crowded.
The gym is airy, clean and well-equipped. The spa is lovely and access to steam and sauna rooms are complimentary. I had a massage from Cornejla and that too was top-notch. I would highly recommend her.
The hotel is located on a little paved community path which makes it easy to walk to other restaurants; and if nothing else, stroll past beautiful old villas and take in the stunning views.
We would definitely LOVE to stay here again! Thanks for a wonderful time Ikador!

We stayed with friends here and we had a very bad experience...
We stayed with friends here and we had a very bad experience for paying $250 a night. Our friends first room when we arrived there was a hole in the wall and smelled like smoke. They asked to change rooms and they moved them to 666. When we arrived at room 666 there was a red substance, possible blood, on the doorframe outside of our door as well as the door across from us. Inside, there were cob webs in the corners, the towel rack was falling down, the shower had mold, a piece of the shower head broke off and scuff marks all over the walls. This was not acceptable standards for $250 euros a night in a 3-4 star hotel. The staff at the bar was also very rude to us, unwilling to answer questions or help with drink options.
They had already asked to be moved to a different room once and would not stay another night. We are on holiday and flew across from the United States to be with them and they had the rental car. We had to leave with them when the hotel did not meet their standards.
When asking the front desk to refund our unused night, she had us wait 1.5 hours until checkout time to give us an answer. She said all she was allowed to offer them was another room and there was no way for us to speak to a manager. She claimed we were blackmailing her and that we needed to stop talking when in reality we were expecting superior customer service considering the hotel’s star rating. She was rude and not helpful.
At her recommendation, we’ve sent follow up emails with pictures to hotel management and she said we would receive a response by Monday. Today is Friday and after multiple emails we have not received a response and they will not answer their phones either.
Absolutely horrific.

Opatija is beautiful!
Opatija is beautiful! The beaches are clean and the water is crystal clear. Many restaurants everywhere. The lungomare (long shore-side promenade built in the 19th century) is an extraordinary walkway - highly recommended!

A lot of the restaurants are close to the road, a small place and not so many choises.
Nice buildings and great view. I lot nicer than Rijeka, which I dont recommend beacuse of old buildings not maintained, and not a nice promenade. But Rijeka is cheaper and better shopping.
Not sun in the evening because of the moutaints.

The more than 170 years of tourism tradition is based on the positive energy of the riviera and the exceptional natural conditions. The revival of the Opatija tourism industry is seen through the constant renovation of hotels in the last few years and the opening of new boutique hotels, which are raising the level of the offer for the most demanding tourist groups.
This little Adriatic town is also known as the “Old Dame”, the “Nice of the Adriatic” or the “Queen of Croatian Tourism” certainly deserves all the flattering titles since the tradition of business and leisure tourism dates back to the late 19th century, when in 1885 the first congress, the Congress of Balneologists, was organised by the Austrian Southern Railway Company. Back then, Opatija was still part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire which played a crucial role in placing this Northern Adriatic gem on the map of the most sophisticated tourist destinations in the Balkan region and the world.

Opatija is a charming city with a delightful blend of coastal beauty and rich culture. I highly recommend dining at Roko and Istranka, where you can savor delicious local cuisine and experience warm hospitality. The city also offers vibrant nightlife for those looking to enjoy their evenings. Opatija truly has something for everyone, making it a wonderful destination to explore.

Underwhelmed.
Underwhelmed. When you look up Opatija you always see pictures of beautiful flowers, especially those in front of the Villa Angiolina. One of the reasons we stayed in Opatija was my wife loves flowers and especially flower gardens. The reality is vastly different from the pictures. We were there in early May 2024 and the weather was cool, but flowers tend to love cool weather. The condition of that postcard style trademark of Opatija was terrible. It is a pleasant town with a nice promenade, but when we were there most restaurants were closed and everything seemed unkempt. Half deserted and still no parking. Possibly they wait for the summer months to tend to things when the town is overrun with tourists and there is really really no place to park.
Stunning villa from the kuk-period. Breathtaking view on the sea, lovely garden. Kind croatian neighbors. We love Croatia and a Opatija is one of its jewels. Rijieka offers a sightseeing, individual beaches and plenty of hiking tracks. The sugar museum is worth a trip. Enjoy.
Small but cozy apartment in a separate building. There is a free dedicated parking space for the guests. The hostess is lovely. Although I made a last-minute booking, she did her best to prepare the apartment and check us in comfortably. Thanks for the hospitality!
Everything. We had HB and food was delicious. Just perfect. A lot of choices. Staff was really friendly. Hotel is beautiful. We will come back for sure. 👌 There is also parking and it costs 25€/day.
One of the best breakfast I have had - wide variety of food and very delicious! The best espresso coffee compared to other hotels in Croatia. Clean and spacious room overall.
