A home away from home. Couldn't have asked for more. Staff were exceptional. Evening meals were just the best. Food was amazing. And so much of it as well.
Single room was funny as it was leaning to one side but I cannot fault that, it had character. It was very comfy and had views of the lake.
Loads of info on what to do. Activities organised. And it had a sauna.

Thanks to our lovely host Lee, we stayed in the beautiful Casa Balam in a hummingbird filled garden beside the lake. Perfect small villa appartment for a couple, with cooking facilities. Early morning kayaks along the lake shore, clear water to swim in. We are definitely coming back.

We simly loved our stay here! It was amazing to live with a local family for a couple of days. Juanita and Roberto are super lovely and caring. We had great conversations and really felt like home. Everyday we were served a super delicious breakfast. The room (or studio) is very spacious, very nicely decorated and comes with a provate bathroom, lake views and a private rooftop terrace with lake views.
The house is located in the village, uphill from the lancha terminal but can easily be reached by a quick tuk tuk ride or a 20 min walk.
Honestly, this was my favorite place to stay in all of central america! Cannot recommend it enough!
Thank you so much, Juanita and Roberto! ❤️

The location was perfect paradise. The view was breathtaking and the house was comfortable.
Beautiful views of the lake, close to Panajachel. Rather quiet and not many options of restaurants and activities.
There was a nice café/restaurant up in the village (you can take a tuktuk to go there) with good food and great views.

A small, quiet town.
A small, quiet town. For visitors there are a couple of hostels, numerous holiday homes and some options for dining out but visitors typically need to give notice ahead of time. Our family enjoyed a few meals at The Iguana Perdida and Holy Tortilla - both were great options and enjoyed by our family (toddler and teens included). We found the views from this town the most stunning and resting here was easy as it is quiet at night. If you prefer to be somewhere busy and don’t want to take a boat to get there, this is probably not the best fit for you. If you do book a casa in Santa Cruz, be sure to bring groceries from Pana as there are just small tiendas and minimal fresh foods for purchase.

Santa Cruz is the pueblo way up the mountain.
Santa Cruz is the pueblo way up the mountain. Down by the lake are some hotels, including 'Noah's Arc' where we stayed. The location is spectacular, with views across the lake to the volcanos. There are flowers everywhere. The lake is clear and clean for swimming. This is a perfect place to relax, watch clouds form over the volcanos and just re-tool.

Great people -- I had an awesome time visiting the town a couple different nights while staying down near the docks -- get a tuk-tuk up and walk back down --- no problems at all. Everyone treated me very kindly. I want to return as soon as I have the opportunity. Santa Cruz La Laguna is beautiful, safe, and the people are friendly.

The property is located smack in the middle of a 900person village that is not yet fully engulfed in tourism. So this is an excellent choice if you plan to take village community life in from the Lago Atitlan. Additionally it is only a 30-45min walk to Santa Cruz passing by Isla Verde and Casa del Mundo so nice views on other hotels and resorts. The Art&Coffee is a place in the making with forthcoming friendly staff and ideas for the future. We cannot account for how they will turn out but wish the owners all the best in realizing them.
Everything was excellent, the view is beautiful and the location of the room meant you could sit comfortably to look out at it at every opportunity, resting in the room, or sitting for breakfast. Stunning!!! The room was spacious, with separate kitchenette, well equipped for preparing a simple meal. Armand and his team at the hotel, were so welcoming, everyone of them made us feel at home. We also enjoyed the meals, which were prepared and presented with great care, delicious!!!
This is a fine luxury hotel. Staff is very attentive since the very begging. The house is magical. It has several different areas where you can relax or havings meals. Our experience was truly amazing. Food is good, but no amazing but is always well presented. You cant miss the JC french toast, that is the best french toaste ive ever had. Wine list is small but good. Juan Carlos, Ariel y Maria were wonderful
The hotel property was very well kept and the view from the room was stunning. They had a cute garden in which we sat practically all the time and we could swim in front of the hotel as well. The communal bathroom and showers were also very clean and we loved the water pressure. The restaurant also had good food.
The view of the lake and two volcanos was the best; the hotel has some nice garden and some common seating areas, which could be better used; the room was nice but not great. there was a good vibe but that’s not enough.
