We loved our overnight here! A lovely place - and wonderful staff. Niko greeted us so warmly and was very helpful with our bicycles and bags. Had the best sleep we’ve had in weeks and the breakfast was delicious— especially all the fresh fruit and good coffee.

The village is very small so it serves more as a stsrting point to explore Crete than as a destination on its own. The caves in the area are quite disappointing, but the village itself is very quiet and picturesque. There are dining options in Vafes but we didn't see any supermarket.

The village is really tiny and with not very much to do but it’s perfect if you seek quiet and peace.
Nice houses around and lovely view over the valley.
Vrisses and other nice villages are a few kilometres away and it’s a good base away from the heavy tourism to explore the area.

Vafes is a small traditional, very calm and quite village.
Vafes is a small traditional, very calm and quite village. It is nice to spend a couple of hours to walk around and visit the nearby gorge with two caves and a small church. One of the caves is an important historical place. The gorge has an easy access.
