Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge.
Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge. There is a trail in the gorge, but we didn't have time for that. So we stopped along the road above and followed the path passed the Church of Saint Nicholas down to a beautiful view of the waterfall.

Quiet place in November, but sea temperature was super nice. Supermarkets are open, as well as some restaurants. There was a lot of construction going on. Many tavernas close to attractions are closed, so take plenty of snacks.

Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras...
Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras Gorge to Kourtaliotiko gorge, city is small and quite. Beaches in city itself not seems are extraordinary, they have many rocks, but on the left end is there a nudist beach

Plakias has a nice village feel with nice beach's and plenty of tavernas, supermarket's, bakers and butchers, all within easy walking distance. We found the food at Antoni's Place was excellent and staff very helpful.

Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing.
Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing. As we were half board we didn't try many of the bars/restaurants on offer. We were going to go on a boat trip but one of our daughters was ill so we had to abandon that idea. My other daughter and I did visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge and waterfall which was amazing and we made it to Souda beach on the last day which had lovely clear water. We had a car so we could travel around. I personally think that is an essential if you want to explore the area as it takes a while to drive anywhere as the roads are quite small and bendy!
from the moment we checked in, Maria and Nikos couldn’t do enough to help and make sure that we were happy and comfortable in their beautiful hotel.
we had a massive balcony where we could sit out and look at the beach and watch all the action outside.
the rooms were spotless with plenty of coffee, shampoos and other amenities.
We would definitely come back and stay here again as it was a wonderful experience.

Excellent quality price ratio. Amazing views from the hotel, clean and tidy. Close to the center and the beach but better to go there by car. It's also very close to the best beaches in the area. The owner Kostas is friendly, helpful and warm, he will treat you as family and help you whatever you need. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy going, we will never forget our nights in the garden having fun with Kostas and other guests. Thank you Kostas for making our stay in plakias so good!!!
Really great stay as a couple at NEREA. From arrival to goodbye, the staff is at your service the whole time, smiles included. Location is a bonus, if you like the beatch, beach bars, local restaurants and small beach towns, as all of that is only 20 steps away from your hotel doorstep. The hotel is perfectly up to date, clean as a whistle and has everything you need to sit back and relax, the spacious terrace not to say the least. Would recommend this for sure! Gertjan & Severine
Such a lovely place!!! Bright, cute studio with AC and an amazing view of the sea and mountains from the balcony! The kitchen had everything one needs, there's a nice table to work. The studio was super clean and just 2 minutes away from the beach! Location is perfect for quiet stay but if you want to have fun, it's 5 minutes away.

Flexible check in, nice oasis style garden with a pool and cool coctail bar, quiet area, very kind and welcoming host. There was a big terrace where we had breakfast and dinner with a view of the mountains and olive tree field. There is free parking on the street or at the olive tree field. Also there is a mini library of books from where you can borrow for the beach so you will not be bored. :)

In front of the beach , very quiet , we had a private beach basically, the apartment has everything we needed. Also with 2 babies they provide us baby chairs and tab for them.

We loved the absolutely quiet location, and nevertheless Plakias with its shops and tavernes is just a short car ride away. If you like to walk, it is about 25 Minutes to Souda Beach (which is very nice, too). There are also two very good tavernes and one beach bar there. Christina, the owner, took also very good care of us.
only 10-15 min walk from the beach, close to the mega supermarket. The host was extremely accommodating, allowed late checkout and gave us oranges from his trees to make orange juice! The kitchen had everything we needed, cute balcony and such friendly cats. Such a lovely place and town.
