Beach is non-existent but we were going by car to Pydna every day which is probably five minutes away. There is a sandy beach and shallow water with no big waves.
View is amazing, september sunrises were fantastic - and the balcony is facing east so that was just too much...
We had dinner once, they literally opened the kitchen for us when we came back late - no fussing or nagging just made exceptional dinner - I must say that Greek salad was the best I ever tasted (and I am visiting Greece for 30 years).
Staff was really nice and helpful. What was shocking is that they change towels every day!!! And if you are not in the room they also clean it every day.

Our stay at the hotel was amazing! It was a short stop on our way to Athens, and we arrived late in the evening - the lovely staff organized the key which was waiting for us, although we missed our check-in deadline.

Very good location close to the main road. The owner was very nice and helpful and waited for us even though we came very late in the evening. The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a reserve with birds nearby if you like these things, we really enjoyed it. We only stayed for one night but everything was as described and overall a very good value for money. We recommend it.

If you prefer to avoid crowded beaches, you'll be pleased with this place. A large and spacious apartment with very friendly owners. The town is peaceful but has all the necessary tourist amenities. In the vicinity, you'll find several excellent restaurants, with Koutsouro being a standout recommendation

Small charming village with open-hearted people ,small shops with everything, if you go by car you can enjoy veriety of close beaches and villages near by. Katherine is like a small Thessaloniki, but its just approx 20km, Paralia as well ( go to MANDALA BEACH is the best). Every Friday in Makrigialos is traditional open market with local food fruits vegetables cotton products, fresh fish etc with the lowest prices ever!
Do not miss to go to Koutsouro restaurant best food always fresh seafoods amazing view small beach bellow, low prices. also great small cafe with great breakfast next to framacy ( forgot the name its something like MПОYГАТSA)🥹😅😂

Very quiet place to enjoy the sea. The locals are very friendly and helpful. The food is very delicious and there are various places to dine-in. The beaches are decent. I recommend Makrygialos if you prefer relaxation.

If you are seeking isolation from noise and chaos, this is perfect. Lots of cats and dogs roaming about if this is your thing. Calm and beautiful.

Nice little town with lots of good restaurants on the seaside. Breakfast only available in the two hotels. Small supermarkets for shopping.
The sea and the beach were not the best, the beach was not cleaned up regularly (dog fouling). Amenities (showers, staircases, lamp posts etc) could be renewed.

The town is very sweet and peaceful but not far from the motorway for easy access! Many very nice taverns on the seafront.
There is a supermarket on the beach road and other close by within a 5-minute walk and on Fridays there is an outside food market with fresh fish, vegetables and fruit, also cheeses and some clothes and shoes are on sale.
The beach is nice with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, offered by the many beach cafes, you by 2 coffees, which includes 2 small bottles of water (€3,50 for each coffee including the water) and the beds and umbrellas are free.
Many other nice bigger beaches within a 3 to maximal 10 Min drive, all highly recommended!

The perfect place for the relaxation and rest from busy and noisy cities. The village is very quiet with a little of tourists. But at the same time it has everything for the vacation. You will find there several small supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. If you travel by car you may visit Salt pit at Kitros, Pieria (6 km distance from Makrýgialos) with the unique salty water lakes, Thessaloniki (50 km), Litochoro (40 km), Old Panteleimonas (47 km).
The listing’s photos doesn’t do it justice! It’s so much prettier in real life. The property has the most beautiful seaview you can imagine. It also has a private beach you can reach by a staircase and a private pool. We loved the multiple areas for dining and entertaining. In addition to that it has a rooftop where you can observe gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. The host was very accommodating and made sure we have a great stay. All rooms were very clean and nicely furnished. Would definitely book again if I visit this part of Greece.
Nice hotel and nice apartment, fully equipped with everything a traveler needs for an economy-style beach vacation. It is close to the beach. Friendly host representative. Very interesting solution for kitchen placement- a stove, a fridge, a sink, and shelves with kitchenware are hidden in a big closet right next to a traditional one for clothes. Great location- the small town Makrygialos is 40 min driving to Thessaloniki on the freeway from Athens, and it has a nice golden sandy beach with no big waves.
Hotel is on a perfect location. The beach is right across the road. They clean the rooms every day. Recommend to take the breakfast with your stay. You can take sunbeds from the hotel and use them on the beach. The staff is very helpful, the hotel restaurant has excellent food. If you want a quiet and nice vacation in a small town this is perfect for you.
We liked the relax communication with the host and the environment of the hotel. The host was friendly and he let us enter the room before the official time,as well as to stay after the official departure time. The apartment was spacious with a big terrace and equipped kitchen. You can hear the cricket and even the waves during the night.
We came for the second time at Achillion during our tour of Greece. As the previous time time, the staff were very friendly and gave us a warm greeting. This time we had a deeper experience of the hotel's traditional cuisine which is excellent and highly recommended. Having dinner on the terrace with the gorgeous sea view was a bliss.
Nice location, really close to the highway, and next to the seashore. This is a nice place to have a good night sleep if you are traveling in stages. The beach is just down the stairs, and there is also a pool next to the hotel. View from the restaurant balcony is really stunning, and it's the perfect place to have breakfast.
Although the four of us booked a room with two twin beds, they offered as two separate rooms with double beds instead. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the staff very kind and hospitable. The hotel has an amazing hotel lobby with numerous cute details.
Super hospitable staff makes you feel like a special guest: late check in, super late dinner served to the room, tasty breakfast in the cafe in hotel. Free parking and Wi-Fi. And very reasonable prices.

The hotel provide the necessary for a short or long stay. Clean linen, a small cooker (I didn't use it), few crockery. The bathroom could be cleaner and better maintained. All in all, you get what you've paid for and I was in general satisfied by my stay
Good location! Close to the beach & the restaurants. The host was kind and provided help in finding the location, we were in permanent phone contact. I felt that the host & a different accommodation facility would make a far better combination.
Excellent location, the beach is across the street, friendly staff, quiet, clean, comfortable, excellent value for money. This is the fourth time we have come to this hotel, and we plan to stay there again next year.
A very friendly host. Room was nice - and so was the free breakfast at his fathers hotel nearby. A complete breakfast - with feta cheese, tomatoes, fried eggs, and homemade fig marmelade to the youghurt -
The location is waterfront and the food is good. I traveled the whole of Greece and this is one of the best Greek salad. We traveled with motorcycles and there was excellent parking
