The staff is so friendly. We stayed at the Dionisos twice during our stay as we left in between to go to Thessaloniki. They kept the bags we didn't need for us overnight. This was extremely helpful and very much appreciated. Also, we had asked for bigger rooms, and they were able to accommodate us. The rooms are fairly small so we really appreciated it. There's a loading zone in front of the hotel which is nice as this is not normal with other hotels.

Though Larissa is not the fancy place like Thessaloniki, or Athens, this town is vibrant, young fresh and if you love going for coffee, you’re just at the right place, in the whole planet. Never seen so many coffee shops in such a small area like in this town. It must be the metropolis of coffee. Besides that it has a great center place with walking areas never seen before, if you love the shop if you love to hang around if you love to go partying that’s really a fantastic beautiful place. The city has also an ancient Pötter where you can see a nice amphitheater, right in the middle center of the city

There are a few points to visit but you can do it in a day or two. Unless you prefer shopping and nightlife sort of tourism, it is best to use Larisa as a base to visit nearby places. It has very good transportation system for local, inter-region and all the major Greek cities.

Larisa is a city with a great vibe!
Larisa is a city with a great vibe! There are many shops, restaurants and bars. We preferred the area around ancient theater A the most. Good restaurants with low prices. Also the bar ‘ las ramblas’ has an excellent choice of coffees and teas. A lot of streets in the center are car-free which makes it more enjoyable. There are many shops to choose from. The ancient sites in the city gives it a special touch and the park is perfect for a morning walk.

Larisa is a delightful city built on top of ancient ruins.
Larisa is a delightful city built on top of ancient ruins. Some areas of the city have ruins displayed which added to it’s charm. Lots of marble paving as well as shop fronts with flowers. This gave a bright clean look to the city. Not lots to see but an opportunity to take a break and relax. We walked around as we were centrally located
Lots of shops reasonably priced (I compared with UK prices).
Excellent food. Eating out was easy.
Difficulty was in choosing where to eat. So many restaurants and bars to choose from all well presented. So spoilt for choice. Lovely in the spring!
We had one of the best, if not the best room in the hotel. It was a corner room on the 5th floor with a huge balcony that overlooked the Greek-Roman Theater and had a view of the St. Achilles Greek Orthodox Basilica. The room had a large desk for two people and outlets for computers so both of us could work simultaneously without a problem. The breakfast was included and absolutely great. One had a wide variety of choices and great service as well. The desk clerks were very helpful and friendly.
The room is old but clean. Note that it is a standard practice in Greece not giving bottle water to you. Here it charges 0.5 Eur. You can buy it from grocery near by. You'll get a fridge an LCD TV.
Breakfast is a cold cut with bread and eggs. Cheese ham bologna are provided with several juice and milk. Some sweets, canned peach, cornflakes musli and yogurt. Overall it is a good hotel for the price.
We got upgraded to deluxe suite by hotel on their own. Everything was clean. Bed was really comfortable.
Room was on 5th floor so we could see good part of the city center from the terrace. Breakfast was served by servers, guests were not allowed to touch buffet table, which I welcomed.
Food variety could be better, but it was enough to start the day at least.
We only stopped for a night, on our way back home from the Peloponnese. The apartment is large and it has everything you would need for a much longer stay. The free underground parking spot is a big plus. The owner is very gentle and helpful.
Larisa is a surprising town, it would have been worth spending at least another day in the city.
It was great to find something with parking and breakfast for such a good price. They give us superior( renovated) room without extras. However, we pay for the standard.
Breakfast was good enough. But coffee can be better.
Also, for us, it was tricky to find it, so please read the description of how to get to the hotel by car sorely.
Great place right next to the center of Larisa. It was spotless clean and I've especially enjoyed the small amenities such as butter, marmelade and juice in the fridge, an espresso machine and small chocolates on the nightstand. Also a private parking spot can be arranged with the owner. Definitely recommended for a visit to Larisa.
