No issues to find parking space, the room was nice and everything was as expected. The location is excellent, the breakfast buffet was nice... eating breakfast with my kids right next to the sea was priceless.

Nice plunge pool. Great kitchen and outdoor living.
Beautiful, unspoilt seaside village. The sea is crystal clear and beach very clean and not at all crowded. Great place to spend a week with the family. Everything is in walking distance....shops, restaurants and the beach.

It's a nice, peaceful beach village.
It's a nice, peaceful beach village. Lots of restaurants because nearly everyone is a (German) tourist. Restaurants speak great English and German and the food was great and good value for money. The beach is nice and beautiful at sunset and if you're lucky you might see baby turtles hatch. kalamaki beach is family friendly. The other side of the cliffs is Komos beach (half nudists, half swimming clothes) so don't walk too far if you're shy about such things. 😃
you can walk to the hippy tourist village of Matalan in a little over an hour, where Red Beach is the best in the area.
The big problem with Kalamaki is transport. Buses will drop you in a small village 3km away but the walk through dirt tracks is confusing even with Google Maps. Taxis will take you from Moires, the nearest town, for twenty euros, but you share them with other passengers who aren't always going in the same direction.

The resort was very peaceful and relaxed.
The resort was very peaceful and relaxed. Very traditional with plenty of eating options along the front, Delphini restaurant I can highly recommend. Lovely long beach past the rocks where many bare all, but everyone seems to mix well.

We've just spent there one of our best summer holidays ever. Kalamaki is a small village in the middle of a long sandy beach on the Lybian Sea. We preferred this beach to the usually higher-rated beaches around (e.g. Matala) because it was not crowded at all (maybe due to COVID). Lots of small properties, no "all inclusive" resorts. Nice people. Very tranquil, with the exception of children playing around and just the amount of good music we needed to feel good (one of the taverns had good bands playing every other day, with an exceptional one on the two Sundays we spent there). One peculiar aspect of architecture is that every other house is unfinished - I heard this is a way to avoid paying taxes. For us, it was part of the experience.

Kalamaki is on the southern part of the island and enjoys a few degrees warmer than the northern coast resorts. The town is largely quite with a few good restaurants and one main supermarket. The beach is good with shade from trees or on beach umbrellas. The locals are super friendly.

Kalamaki is a very small seaside village situated on the south coast. It has a bakery, small supermarket and a few gift shops. The front is mainly traffic free and lined by surprisingly smart cafe-bars and restaurants some with distinctive style. The sandy beach conceals a stony entry for swimming- bring or buy water-shoes! There is some safety supervision of bathing areas. Kalamaki is handy for visits to picturesque but steep Agia Gallini and Matala: its hippy days over, it looks rather shabby but the cliffs are still there. The historic Minoan and Roman sites of Phaestos, Gortyn and Agia Triada are all within 20km by car.
The Kalamaki-Sunset apartment in Kalamaki is a hidden gem. This beautifully designed and tastefully decorated apartment is a tranquil haven. The location is ideal, just a short walk away from sandy beaches and charming tavernas. However, it's the expansive balcony with its awe-inspiring views that steals the show, showcasing unforgettable sunsets that will leave you mesmerized. For those seeking a serene escape with breathtaking vistas, the Kalamaki-Sunset apartment is an absolute must-stay destination.
Location is perfect for a relaxing holiday, one can sleep with open windows and hear the sea but nothing else. Great tavernas and beach in very short walking distance. Good location to explore the sights nearby, Matala, Phaistos, etc. Apartment is beautifully designed and very well equipped, having great panoramic view to the sea and mountains. I got a very warm welcome by the host, thanks Andrew! Welcome gifts and local home made specialities also made my stay amazing in Kalamaki.
I had the best stay at Alonia! The room was clean and comfortable (the bathroom was updated and it was the best shower I’ve had in Greece in 6 weeks), it was an excellent location- 2 min walk to the beach with partial ocean balcony views, and Eleni and co. made the stay exceptional! Eleni went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and I had such a lovely time I decided to come back to the hotel when she has an available room again!
Very friendly family, who made everyone feel welcome. The spacious room was very comfortable and very clean. There were tables to sit on both balconies either side of the room to catch or avoid the sun. A very pleasant stay. I highly recommend.
On Kalamaki itself, don't miss Kostas Taverna in the middle of the beach strip, particularly if you can manage to speak a little Greek. It will take you back to the Greece of old! Delightful.
A very high quality spacious apartment just on the beachfront of Kalamaki, everything is new and clean with a very good taste. A really luxury apartment in very reasonable price. Andrew was lovely and super helpful ❤️.
Kalamaki is amazing, so quite and relaxed, beautiful beach and sunsets, with the best restaurants.
We are a couple with a toddler and it was perfect, had such a good time.
Highly recommend.
The hotel owners, husband and wife, were most kind and welcoming, greeting us with coffee and cookies on arrival. They even gave us a bottle of homemade olive oil as a gift! The room was huge and cleaned every day for which we were most grateful. Kitchenette had everything we needed to prepare breakfasts and cook a light lunch. Shower was very spacious, which is a rarity in Greece :)
Hotel just at a few minutes walk from the beach and many restaurants, room with sea view and balcony equipped with chairs and table. Excellent and abundant breakfast served in the garden. The cleanliness is very nice, comfortable mattresses. The owner ,Mrs. Eirini, and her son very kind and very nice.
Excellent value for money .
The hosts were amazing, very friendly and kind. They were hospitable and even took us out for dinner, probably the most fun dinner we have ever had with locals.
The villa is beautifull and has an amazing swimming pool.
Overall probably one of our best holidays we had so far. Would really recommend taking this villa.
The apartments are at the beachfront of Kalamaki, with great sea view! We had rented 2 apartments and both of them were very clean, with large balconies, nice kitchen and spacious. In 1 - 2 min walk there is everything, cafes, restaurants, beach and other shops. We had a great holiday stay! Definetly recommended!
Comfortable, recently updated little house near Kalamaki beaches, restaurants and shopping. Near the city center but removed enough from the main streets to be quiet. Kitchen, laundry, garden and parking make it a great place to stay for a while in a cool little Greek beach town!
Garifalia and her husband were very friendly hosts. The apartment was spacious enough for two people and cleaned every day. The public areas (balcony etc) were also very tidy. The location was good, with quiet surroundings and just a short walk to the beach and the town.
The view from the sea facing rooms makes up for all the shortcomings of the hotel. The balcony was literally meters from the sea. You get your own private sunset. The hotel terrace is on the beach and is very nice. The room was clean.
Great location in center of little village Kalamaki and 4 min walk to the beach. Our room was clean, big enough and renovated, with fridge inside, bed is comfortable. Parking is free and the host is very kind and hospitable.
Location and cleanliness of the hotel. Breakfast was adequate but do not expect anything special: coffee is sub-par, orange juice is not fresh squeezed. Tavernas food was nice fish and salads were great
We, a family of four, had a great stay at this hotel. Everything felt new and very clean, well functioning silent aircon, good beds and great pool.
We would definitely return again.
Location is pefect. Studio was clean, literally every day cleaning lady was in the studio cleaning, enough space, everything was perfect. Kalamaki is beautiful.
