Gouves its a village, perhaps not as glamorous as Chania side of Crete but I liked it. Is a bit unpolished, I would say, not with that feeling of drowning under the - all included large hotel complexes and the tourist vulgo that comes with it. Its a more apartments district with greeks coming on vacations too. Plenty of taverns with prices ranging between; main courses 7-14€, drinks 5€ and cocktails 7€, breakfast 5-8€. It also has several Super markets, two of them larger with everything you need. All the above its at walking distance. 10 min with the car or moped from Gouves up inte mountains, you come to smaller villages like Hersonissos with fantastik tavernas and beautiful views.

A charming village, about 15 minutes from Heraqlion by bus (no. 2 from the airport).
Do NOT miss the Asteria taverna next to Lavris hotel: every Sunday and Tuesday a live performance of traditional Greek and Cretan music, with the beautiful Anna teaching Greek dances. It's not a tourist taveran (although there are tourists there of course) but aimed mainly for the locals. We will remember our two visits there as one of our unique experiences in Crete, and no doubt the most enjoable of them.

The day I was in Gouves the beaches were basically nonexistent due to the high tie and was very very windy. Walking along the sea was nice but given the nice beaches the island has to offer I'd rather go somewhere else or at least not stay there for long
It was such a wonderful stay. The location is perfect - easy to get to from the airport but convenient for trips out around the island. The staff could not have been nicer, especially in the spa where the service was exceptional. Food was varied and excellent. My children (aged 11 and 13) had so much fun at the water park. As a family that tries to find somewhere new every holiday, this is the one resort we would return to again.
Friendly, helpful staff.
We got bigger room with seaview.
There was welcome pack in the fridge - water, juice and fruits.
Free airport shuttle - arrived on time, fast.
All inclusive matches the price - drinks are available during day, but don't expect large selection.
Food is similar every day, but it sometimes depends on time when you arrive.
Beach is sandy, only 20 meters from the hotel.
Small kitchen in the room.
The family run property is well taken care of and the staff is very helpful. Their pool is relaxing and lovely and the “breakfast” is served all day on a shaded patio. The beach, restaurants and shops are all walking distance and they have ample parking for guests. There are many olive and fruit trees and a garden with many vegetables. our favorite excursions were recommended by the hotel staff!!
A beautiful resort 15 min from the airport, 20 min from the city center. Super convenient for families with kids. Gouves is a cute little village- yes there are stores, restaurants but the beach is an average one. We explored the local area (Malia) and found fabulous beaches around. AgiosNikolaus is an hour drive. Rental car is a must. Overall a fabulous experience.
Nice, relaxing atmosphere to wind down after almost 2 weeks of travel.
Food was great at the hotel which is usually not the case in my experience!
Quick access to the beachfront/shops/etc.
The yoga classes offered (11am Mo-Fr) were exactly what I needed to bring my vacation to an end :) Natasha was a great instructor and I enjoyed her practices thoroughly 🙏
like home from home.Well equipped with everything you need.Nice quiet location with a few tavernas close by .5 minutes by car to busy area of Kato Gouves if you want it .Owners Giannis and Georgia so friendly and helpful.Nice touches with their own made olive oil , wine and raki.Myself and my wife really enjoyed our stay and found it very relaxing.
The apartment is perfect, so clean and excellently equipped. You can park inside, The owner is incredibly nice. The beach is only 50 meters from the apartment, Super Market, bar, coffeeshop with breakfast just a 2-minute walk on the beach. If we will go back to Crete, we will choose the TEO again. No question.
Great hotel. Great staff and owner and Mrs. Irena. Many thanks to Mrs. Irena and the owner for this wonderful time. Everything was wonderful. The location was great by the sea. Every day everything was clean, the rooms were cleaned, towels changed. We want to return to Crete to Gouves and to this hotel.
The animation team was really fantastic. Great shows and entertainment every day. And the mini club for children was also very good. Our kids of 4 and 6 enjoyed it a lot!
The beach is on walking distance, hotel staff is very friendly, rooms were hygienic and cleaned every day, buffet is ok.
The restaurant that is also run by hotel staff was very cute. The food was delicious. This hotel was well worth the inexpensive price! The room was very clean and modern. Beautiful view of Mediterranean Sea!
From start to finish, this hotel was excellent. The welcome and the continued service from all staff members, the food, the cleanliness of the place. Every aspect of our holiday was fantastic.
Gazebo on the beach and near the pool were quite comfortable and free.
Rooms with a pool are quite cool, though note that it’s shared with 2 other rooms.
Hotel design is good.
Private beach.
Nice apartments, new, spacious and clean. Very friendly and helpfull owner - Sonia, who made sure we have the nicest experiences in Crete. Sea at your footstep, everything you need is nearby.
