Gouves its a village, perhaps not as glamorous as Chania side of Crete but I liked it. Is a bit unpolished, I would say, not with that feeling of drowning under the - all included large hotel complexes and the tourist vulgo that comes with it. Its a more apartments district with greeks coming on vacations too. Plenty of taverns with prices ranging between; main courses 7-14€, drinks 5€ and cocktails 7€, breakfast 5-8€. It also has several Super markets, two of them larger with everything you need. All the above its at walking distance. 10 min with the car or moped from Gouves up inte mountains, you come to smaller villages like Hersonissos with fantastik tavernas and beautiful views.

A charming village, about 15 minutes from Heraqlion by bus (no. 2 from the airport).
Do NOT miss the Asteria taverna next to Lavris hotel: every Sunday and Tuesday a live performance of traditional Greek and Cretan music, with the beautiful Anna teaching Greek dances. It's not a tourist taveran (although there are tourists there of course) but aimed mainly for the locals. We will remember our two visits there as one of our unique experiences in Crete, and no doubt the most enjoable of them.

The day I was in Gouves the beaches were basically nonexistent due to the high tie and was very very windy. Walking along the sea was nice but given the nice beaches the island has to offer I'd rather go somewhere else or at least not stay there for long
Perfect location in (Kato-)Gouves, just a few minutes from Heraklion Airport and right by the sea.
Friendly, nice, loving and helpful owner family. Very well equipped, manageable and family-run apartment complex, with private pool. The apartments lack nothing - everything you need is available. Quiet location and within walking distance you reach everything: small and large supermarkets, souvenir stores, bars and restaurants as well as doctor and pharmacy.
George's Bar right next door is an absolutely recommendable coffee spot.
The staff was very polite and kind, we were also amazed at how well they upheld the pandemic health measures (masks always on). The rooms were very clean and smell amazing, and the facilities too were very well maintained. The food was quite delicious, especially if you take a chance to eat at the a la carte restaurant. Being next to two beaches it's ideal if you want to explore the surrounding villages but we spent most of our time within the hotel as it was so relaxing and calm to chill there.

The first room was very small ,but asked to change rooms with no problem,husband got dermatitis on feet ,caused by dirty water ,they could do with using bleach in bathrooms.other than that staff amazingly friendly,beds clean and comfy ,food good.on website says it’s hotel and spa so was hoping to relax with massage ,but didn’t meet expectations.good hotel if looking for relaxation,as a bit far out from main activities.
This is hands down the best place I've ever stayed and best value for money. The staff are like my new family, the most caring and lovely people who treat you like genuine family. Amazing facilities, beautiful apartments in an amazing central location. We had the perfect holiday, and a massive part of that was this hotel. Couldn't recommend more!

The staff were attentive, friendly and were helpful when asking for places to go and activities to do. The food was great but some foods were repetitive but they were still good, the alcoholic drinks were mixed well and some poured heavy handed- definitely no complaints about that! The hotel was always kept clean and everything was replenished.
Everything was excellent, the entire hotel staff did everything to make our stay pleasant, all the people at the reception office, the cleanliness of the rooms, the great food, the water park, the pools for children and adults were really an attraction,

Where had an emergency stay in crete in care for our son under surgery in Université Hospital. In our Host and Place we found all we needed to relax and feel at Home during this challenging Moment in our Life. The room was very clean, with modern facilities, the kitchen was fully equipped and this was a big plus since we travel with our two years old son. There is a great sea view from the balcony and parking is available near the accomodation. The location is near restaurants, a few sandy beaches and supermarkets.
The animation team was really fantastic. Great shows and entertainment every day. And the mini club for children was also very good. Our kids of 4 and 6 enjoyed it a lot!
The beach is on walking distance, hotel staff is very friendly, rooms were hygienic and cleaned every day, buffet is ok.
From arrival to departure, everything about the Rena Apartments was excellent. The staff and owners were great and nothing was too much trouble. This place is a definite must to stay around Gouves with easy access to the road networks for exploring the surrounding areas.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful ,also Maria and Alexander were very good to. The location was very quiet as you are not in the center of Kato Gouves which made it very peaceful. the view of the olive grove opposite was lovely also and the garden was very pretty.

This hotel is a real 5 star hotel. Amazing facilities, breakfast, pools, tennis court. The staff is also really helpful and friendly. They even got us a welcome wine, water everyday and a birthday cale for my wife which was really good.
My stay at this hotel was a pleasant surprise. It's a well mentained place, in front of the sea. I meet here excellent personal, client orientated. They have a very good restaurant and an excellent buffet offer for the meals.
