The area is peaceful and quiet. There are only a few people living in this area and the small villages have preserved their ancient charm. You can visit a few pebbly beaches, which are really beautiful and unique, as you won't find any crowd here. It is not touristy at all. If you long for a quiet, peaceful holiday, this is the perfect place for you. There are a lot of small and interesting churches from the middle ages, and you can visit Tainaron, which is the southernmost part of the Greek mainland with the beautiful lighthouse (still working) in a dramatic place.
