Exceptionally friendly staff. Despite late arrival way past dinner time and without asking the staff went the extra mile and surprised us with some food from the dinner buffet.

Everyone was nice but the kitchen staff was spectacular. The star of the show in my opinion was Manos, who seemed to be the head waiter. His simple presence uplifted the entire restaurant. His wording, even in a second language, made the atmosphere graceful and you felt provided for without pretention. So much warmth and so professional. The waitress Sofia would pick up crying children (with approval of parents of course) and welcome everyone warmly. The food of course was also good, as well as the rest of the staff. thank you!

Elounda is a compact small town on a beautiful sheltered bay. Easy to walk around to visit shops and the many restaurants, tavernas and cafes. In high season it's very much a resort but it's also really nice to visit it out of season, when it's just a working town. There are expensive resorts and hotels outside the main town and it's obvious that there is sufficient income for the local authorities to keep the roads, pavements, infrastructure, etc., well maintained, unlike some other places on Crete.

Would be a charming town if not sooo many tourists who are being brough to Elounda with big busses to do boat tours.
Above has impact on prices and daily routine in the town, leaving little space for Cretean live-style.

Elounda is a great place - very pretty, everything you need is within walking distance - you dont really need a car. Beaches are close by, or you can walk further out to them. Bars and restaurants all around - some cheap and cheerful, some traditional some finer dining - but all are excellent.
You can get boats from the harbour/port to various places. Lots of places to visit - Spinalonga, Ag Nik, Heraklion, museums etc
Also if you like walking - there are a lot of options around the peninsula and along to Plaka.
It isnt cheap but isn't expensive. There are A LOT of English people who go to Elounda (regularly) - but its not full of sports bars or English breakfast places!
A really good place for a first timer to Crete or Greece.
Everybody is friendly and its a very chilled out place.

Elunda is a little fishing village that has grown with the tourist industry, loads of taverna's and restaurants easily keep you going for two weeks, some nice bars as well.
We go in May or September, September is still up to 30 deg and the sea is lovely and warm, it is a lot quieter and relaxing with older people being the main tourists.
The town has two good beaches, It overlooks a bay that is guarded by Spinalonga Island formerly a leaper colony and before that a Venetian fort, worth a visit by boat from the harbour.
Along the coast a couple of miles in a Taxi is Placa a charming place to have a meal or a drink in the evening, has some very good restaurants with a beautiful view of Spinalonga.
The other side of Elunda is a large town of Agios Nikolaos Lots of shops and things to see even more restaurants.
We hired a car for a few days and went out and about there are a few interesting arclogiclde sites within an hours radius, Kritsais a very old village inland up in the hills, it is worth a visit with lots of craft shops and taverna's and nice views,
We have been to Elunda 4 times and will go back next year hopefully.

The holiday homes are cultured, there are no vendors on the beach, or loud music. There are a lot of rocks in the sea and the fishes are biting :D, so it's worth wearing water shoes. It's a calm and clean city, the locals are nice, the food and drinks are amazing, they give you big portions. There is a lot of wind in Elounda, but Plaka is really windy. There is some nightlife in the bars, but nothing rough. The vacation here is relaxing and pleasant.

Elounda is outstanding.A number of restaurants are on jetties streching out into Elounda bay.
The Blue Sea Cretan Cuisine and seafood restaurant located in front of my hotel was fabulous! Exceptional food and service at great prices.
Elounda and Spinalonga is full of lovely local shops selling beautiful items, many hand made.
The local people I found to be warm and welcoming.
The atmosphere was relaxed with plenty of available sunbeds on the sea front.
I felt no need to go anywhere else as I was staying for 1 week, although there were boat trips on offer along the sea front. I did get the bus to Agios Nikolaus for 1euro 80 each way around 20 minutes from Elounda.
Superb views, great facilities - large pool and outdoor area, extremely comfortable beds, pizza oven, plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teens. You can walk into Elounda or get a taxi. Lots of amazing restaurants nearby. Easy to hire a car and also easy to get your COVID tests for flying. Louiza, our host, could not have been more helpful. She even helped us organize a poolside massage! She was available on WhatsApp for the duration of our stay and we were extremely grateful. A perfect place; highly recommended.
We stayed in the Luxury Residence and it was perfect for a family of 4. The swimming pool and the patio was the highlight for us. The food at the restaurants on-site was amazing, especially the dinner at Tholos with special cuisine nights. The resort offers a lot of activities to keep both adults & kids busy.
And a special mention for the staff for their amazing hospitality and taking care of our every little need.
It was an absolute pleasure to be at the Domes of Elounda! Can't wait for our next one!
Amazing view from the suites. very good breakfast. great service and staff. clean, good atmosphere in resort surroundings. Elounda area is nice and cozy.
we had a rare problem of some noise coming from some equipment in the room. the staff did every effort to fix it and also to solve the situation for us immediately, including to offer us a change to another suite (so we will not wait till it’s fixed) and solved the situation with care and kindness.
What to say that's not been said already. What a stunning gem. My sisters and I had a totally fabulous and relaxing stay at Tsifliki Beach House. The views from the terrace are breathtaking especially at dawn and sunset. Easy walk into Elounda and Plaka for beautiful shops and restuarants. The private beach is so peaceful and the family are so welcoming and helpful. You will not be disappointed and we will definitely return.
Wonderful location with panoramic helicopter view over the Elounda bay. Spacious & comfortable room, nicely decorated with full amenities. Clean, hospitable, discreet & courteous personnel. Its location (including the embedded culinary Terrassa restaurant) is an oasis of accommodation, unique view, & delicious tastes. We thank Kostas & Anna, Despina & the serving team for the wonderful week we spent at their premises.
Lovely property run by dedicated family and team who understand the value of customer service and can offer advice about local trips. Nothing was too much trouble and opportunity for evening dining with amazing fresh local food. Such high standards
Stunning location with modern spotlessly clean rooms and wonderful views
Lots of repeat business - do not hesitate to book if you are planning to visit Elounda
Domes of Elounda was absolutely amzing. From day one, they welcomed us warmly and made our stay there incredible. We enjoyed every breakfast and dinner, the room service was great and the hotel itself is a treasure in Elounda. We fell in love with the interior of the hotel and our room. We'd definitely recommend staying there for at least 4-5 days and take the most of this time.
It's not a Leading Hotel of the World for no reason! We felt looked after & taken care of during our stay. We will be back. The beds are out of this World too: full adjustable & incredibly comfy (Room 131). We loved the extensive breakfast options, sunken bath, walk in shower & private balcony overlooking the sea too. Nothing is too much trouble when it comes to service either.
Relaxing, clean and well maintained 4* hotel offering magnificent views of Elounda.
Pool was a nice surprise!!
Few minutes drive far from anything you might need ,but far enough to keep the nights quiet and relaxing!!
Staff was amazing, very welcoming and helpful!!
Special thanks to the bar staff, keep up the good work !!!
I loved everything about this hotel. The owner, Maria, is just so nice, attentive and kind. Rena makes every breakfast a royal treat. The room, location, surrounding restaurants, view, beach, hikes, nearby town - everything was just perfect.
There is no doubt in my mind that I will come back here.
We stayed at Blue Palace Hotel as a couple at “Superior Bungalow Sea View with private heated pool”.
It was an amazing experience right from the start. Professional and kind personnel, fantastic view from the room, classy atmosphere and beautiful beach.
Large, comfortable room. Excellent bed and pillows. Delicious, varied breakfast. Fantastic location overlooking Elounda Bay. Staff was quick to repair a broken shower door.
