Where to start? This is one of our new favorite hotels in the world. We had a room with a fireplace, and the wonderful staff were kind enough to help us light it. This means we spent every evening cozied up by a fire, in a small Greek mountain village. What a dream. The food was some of the best we’ve had in all our travels. The breakfast is the stuff of dreams—huge variety, with both sweet and savory options, and delicious cappuccinos made to order. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant two nights, and each meal was divine. This was the perfect Greek mountain retreat, and we would love to come back and stay again someday!
At an altitude of 2133 ft, in the picturesque square of Portaria in Pelion, lies Pelias Hotel. It offers free public Wi-Fi, a traditional breakfast buffet, and a charming courtyard.

We had such a wonderful time at Portaria and at this hotel!
The owner was so nice and made sure we’re happy and comfortable, he also helped us plan our trip in the area.
Breakfast was nice and fresh, there is a lovely outside sitting garden.
Location is right a the village heart and all the restaurants and shops are just 2 steps away.
We would love to stay here again 😊

Chania is centrally located high up the mountain, which makes it a great base for exploring the Pelion peninsula, provided that you have a car. But keep in mind that the mountain roads take time to negotiate so although Mylopotamos Beach is only 13 km away as the crow flies, the driving distance is about 25 km and it takes 50 minutes to get there.
The nights are cool regardless of how hot the day or the temperature further down. Of the hotels in Chania, this was the most reasonably priced one so for that reason the criticism about the interiors should be taken with a pinch of salt. In addition, it seems to serve the best home-cooked meals so even if you don't stay here, the outdoor terrace restaurant is highly recommended. The breakfast buffet, when available, was excellent.
Stevalia Hotel & Spa is located in Katichori Village of Pelion, within 0.6 mi from the scenic Portaria. It has a spa center, and offers free Wi-Fi in all areas and luxurious, classic rooms.

All wood, floors ceilings. Nice old style building. Large room. Basic bathroom.
Breakfast for kings, we were asked what we want, and it was too much. Great hospitality.
Oh, and amazing view from the room.
