The rooms were spacious and with good lighting. We had a smart TV in the living room where we could watch Netflix. The shower was so small it was hard to stand in. The shower curtain would stick to you the whole time you were trying to shower. The bed was hard as a rock. The pictures look much different than the actual resort. The food and lobby were great, but the rooms were pretty bad.

Amoudara has one main street where all the shops and restaurants are and that's pretty much it. You take any side streets and you'll end up in one of the neighboring settlements. The place feels neglected and doesn't look pretty. From half-finished, deserted buildings with lots of junk nearby, to overgrown shrubs and trees, which you have to avoid by ducking or walking into the street sometimes, which doesn't make it very safe. There's also a power plant nearby which really takes away from the overall impression. During the first couple of days of my stay, there was some unpleasant smell in the air, not sure if it was the power plant or some other reason, but it was really awful.
The beach is great as long as it's not windy but, unfortunately, it usually is.

Pretty nice beach and close to town and port to catch the ferry at 9am for us. We could easily get to the South Coast and east coast for sightseeing without being stuck in town.

Nice beaches but awerall quite littery. It is worth to rent a car and leave this place for even nicer beaches and the wonderful Natural History Museum. (As I sea the public transport is also frequent to Knossos and to the city center.)

Enorme Teatro Beach exceeded my expectations!
Enorme Teatro Beach exceeded my expectations! Our fiance and I went there to exchange our vows on the beach. It was our first time in Crete... From the very first day of the online booking till the very last day at the hotel the staff were always helpful, making sure we had everything we need (taxis, dinner, photographer, answering our questions...). The swim-up option in our room was beyond what I imagined. Also he food is quite exceptional!!
I would definitely recommend Enorme Teatro Beach to anyone anywhere, anytime!

A really nice cosy hotel - Some small things have space for improvement, but maybe this makes exactly the atmosphere.
The breakfast buffet is extraordinary !
But the biggest asset of this hotel, is the team - and I mean the whole team including the lady taking care about cleaning !
If I would decide for Ammoudara/Heraklion again, I definitely would come back to this hotel !

The strongest point of the hotel is the easy access to the beach, the availability of plenty of loungers both near the pool and at the beach. The beach itself is also very nice, with soft golden sand and a great view over Crete's mountains. The attention and help of all the staff is also very commendable. I always got a solution for any problem or question I had. Also, the hotel's location makes it very easy to walk into any restaurant or to quickly catch a bus to Heraklion.
The best thing about this property are the staff who are extremely warm and hospitable, and the location. It is next to the beach (I could hear the ocean from my balcony) and a bus stop which makes access to Heraklion extremely convenient. The room I booked was comfortable, clean, and had plenty of storage. I was supposed to stay for 5 nights and would have been happy to do so, but was offered a complimentary upgrade to the nearby Hotel Malena (part of Omilos Hotels).
Great staff, fantastic food, the rooms and grounds were wonderful a true oasis of relaxation. The staff were exceptional and responded to any question immediately and certainly went the extra mile to make out stay perfect. Big thanks to Dimi, Theo, Georgiou, Anna, Costas, Kristina, Socrates and especially to Maria who found a white wine my partner adored. Well done to the who team and I would recommend the hotel to anyone searching for something special in Crete.
We had a corner room on the third floor with a good view of the ocean and Heraklion city beyond. It had a small balcony. There are lots of areas to sit comfortably downstairs or around the pool in summer…all user friendly. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The hotel is located near the beach, there’s a supermarket nearby and there’s good off street parking.
One of the best stay I had ! This is a hotel managed by a very nice family. I was in Heraklion for work and could telework easily in a quiet environment with the pool as a pause between two projects. Clean, spacious, all the equipment necessary, close to the beach and restaurants, bus station very close, and most of all generous and kind people of the hotel! I recommend and will come back for sure in this place. Amazing!
The hotel is very nice and the staff very attentive. The location is amazing one step from the beach and very close to Heraklion city. The bus station is not far from the hotel for someone without a transportation. The area is quiet and relaxing with several options to Ammoudara. Breakfast is very good and the hotel restaurant is a nice place to end your day. Look forward to staying here again on our next visit.
We were very well looked after by the great hosts and the whole team! Lovely beach literally on your doorstep with service from the hotel bar and restaurant. Our apartment contained everything we needed and was very clean. AC worked well and quietly. Good base for exploring the Heraklion area and there was also parking on site. Enjoyed the breakfast too. Highly recommended!
The hotel is in the edge of a recreation area, close to little beaches, restaurants, and gift shops. Although the feeling of this area is a little bit disappointing. At the reception they were friendly and quick. They offered us after checking out to stay in the poolside or lobby, and that they can store our luggage, until our flight is about to depart.
Although it is not a luxury hotel, it is very agreeable. The staff is super friendly and helpful and did everything to make us feel comfortable. We were a large group of rooms and we all felt that the hotel and staff were always at our service.

The location is great (a bit far from Heraklion) with good access to the sea. The beach is nice, as you can really walk up and down (quite rare in Crete to have this long beach). Plenty of restaurants around. The host is wonderful, very helpful. The terrace is the cherry on the cake, with wonderful views of the sea.

The location of the hotel is in front of the sea which was ideal for my vacations to relax and enjoy the sea breeze and swimming every day. I also really liked the Waves restaurant which had the best quality and tasty foods!

A lovely nice hotel at the beach. When we visited it was not very busy and we almost had the pool to ourselves. You can walk directly to the beach. Breakfast was nice and diverse.
