Over the years I have stayed in over a dozen hotels and guesthouses in Akhaltsikhe (including Hotel Like several times)......Considering the room rate, location, room view, the facility and room amenities and the owner hospitality, the Hotel Like is clearly the best.....There may not be someone at reception to check you in upon arrival. But call one of the phone numbers on the entrance door (Sabo speaks English) and somebody will be there shortly to check you in.

The host couple is very friendly and warm. When we checked in, they welcomed us kindly with hot coffee and light refreshments.
We wanted to go to Vardzia so we asked them how to get there. They introduced us to a taxi guide operated by a friend of theirs and we used this. This guide truly exceeded my expectations! Maxo, our taxi guide, took us not only to vardzia but also to many amazing places that we would not have been able to go to if we had not taken a taxi. He was friendly and explained the relevant information about each place to us. The guide's price was totally reasonable and we were really satisfied with it. If you are planning to go to vardzia, I highly recommend this guide to you.

Castle is amazing!Worth of visiting for sure!One of the Georgian highlights!You can set the base here,and go around a bit,to such a place as Vardzia and so,and to go straight to Batumi from there (just be aware of the snow-covered pass during the winter/early spring time, not available by regular car).

We made a last minute change to our travel plans to come to Akhaltsikhe for 1 night. 1 night us definitely not enough, 2 nights would have been better to fit in a a slow paced tour of vardzia (2-3 hours recommended, plus 2 hours total driving time). Give plenty of time to have a full tour of the fortress.
The town is very cute, and cool experience

One afternoon and one day were long enough to see the castle and go on a basic tour of the area. With two days more I would have gone to see the various churches and synagogues in town and taken the time for a hike in the surrounding mountains.

Very impressive fortress/castle of IX century, rebuilt in XII century. However, in my opinion, some parts of the reconstruction of 2012 doesn't fit well with old structures and makes to desire much more. Overall, it is worth to visit it.
But, if you are in Akhaltsikhe, you are simply OBLIGUED to visit Vardzia caves (1 hour away). It will leave you astonished!!!
And also Saro megaliths and ruins of 2nd millennium BC (45 min away)...
And much more...

A very interesting place. Rabati was fantastic, there are many other beautiful fortresses, churches, monasteries around. The nature was beautiful. Only about 62 km from Vardzia - a must see in Georgia.

Akaltsikhe is a beautifull area in Georgia and a good place to start tours to e.g. Vardiz or Borjomi. The castle in Akaltsikhe is a huge rebuild old castle renewed with new sites inside the castle walls. An exciting mixture of old and new. Be sure to have time for all the corners with nice mosaic basins and walk up the stairs to the towers for extraordinary good view.
The hotel is/looks really new and modern, the location and value for the price are great. Staff was very friendly too.
I have stayed only for 1 night, so I just needed basic things like bed and shower, which I got. I also liked that the shower had nice smelling shower gel and shampoo bottles. The hotel is situated directly opposite the castle, so you can have nice view from the room (which I unfortunately didn't have, but at least I could see my car parked on the quiet street on the other side)
This hotel was one of the two best experiences of our Georgia trip. The best thing about this hotel are the kind owners Svetlana and Ruslan and the location right in front of the castle. We had a family room for 4 persons, which was simple but had all we needed. The price-performance ratio was the best of all the hotels where we stayed. Dinner and breakfast in the hotel's restaurant (find it on google!) were excellent! We can highly recommend both, hotel and restaurant.
It's a little family run guest house but the room I had was elegant like a hotel room and it had a modern en-suite bathroom - luxury for a budget traveller. The WiFi worked well which is important for me. The host was friendly and helpful. And the location is just perfect: a minute from both the bus/marshrutka station and the fortress, right in the center of town in the flat part, so you don't have to climb any hill with your luggage.
The room that I stayed in was very clean and comfortable (super comfy bed!). There is special attention to the décor so it feels quite homey and comfortable as opposed to the sparseness of many hotel rooms. The owners were very friendly and flexible for any and all requests. The location is nice if you want to be near the castle and bus station. Overall I had a fantastic stay and would definitely return here for a future visit.
Accomodation is very close to bus stop and near the castle . Store is just a few steps away. I would say ideal location. Room is good size , comfortable . Big plus it really has private bathroom. In many cases in Georgia there are advertising private bathroom , but they mean bathroom in hallway for everybody. Here you have your own bathroom in the room. Owner is very friendly and helpful . We would definitely stay here again

Comfortably room in Hobit style hotel. Super friendly host, exceptional yard and good breakfast! Take a minute at night to watch stars at the sky, on good weather you can see everything!

The host and her partner were really amazone! They were super nice and welcoming and thankfull. This made our stay even better. The hotel is very close to the Castle and is located in a central location. We slept really great and enjoyed every second of our stay because of the warm and welcoming hosts. The best in Akhaltsikhe. We had everything to feel comfortable. Eka is very polite and kind. We had clean bedsheets and towels. In shower you can find shampoo and shower gel.
In the morning we were invited to have the hot breakfast.

Comfortable and quiet hotel for relaxation. Here is a beautiful view of Rabat Castle. Here you will meet a friendly young housewife and help you. Everything is clean. In the kitchen you can prepare lunch and use kitchen accessories.

This is categorized as a hotel but the host, Svetlana and husband are very hospitable, that this is more like a guesthouse. Bed and pillows are so soft and comfortable. Room is very clean. Breakfast is a feast and dinner is very good. I’ll stay here again.
