Ailie and Nigel were amazing! They couldn't do enough to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing was too much trouble and they are both very nice people. Nigel was incredibly helpful in driving me to the local Johnstone train station when cabs were a problem. Breakfast was spot on. There are two lovely dogs there too (Bryce and Toffee) if you miss your own dog during your stay as I did. The dogs are not allowed to roam the building so don't fret. I was allowed to go to them for some pats. I returned late (after midnight) on each night of the stay and there were no problems with accessing the property despite the late hour. The setting is lovely and quiet with really nice walks right on your doorstep. It was a great stayover for a few days and will definitely rebook when I am up that way again. Room was comfortable and spacious enough for a couple of nights. Facilities were fine too. Bathroom was a good size and well fitted out.

I had high hopes - photos looked lovely, location good, but so disappointed. Perhaps rooms shouldn’t be let to focus on core business.

The host Glen was enthusiastic, helpful and friendly. Bed was fairly comfortable. Telly worked (although spookily switched itself on).
Parking handy just across the road.

Hotel is a homeless unit and is unsafe, it has been slammed by Police and local politicians, dangerous place to be. If in any doubt please google the “hotel” and look for news items. Very kind couple who live in the same house. I came in with another girl who helped me find my way and who wanted to charge her phone since it was already dark out and she had a while to go. Even though the owners did not expect this they were more than accommodating! The lady of the house helped me with my heavy bag upstairs. She gave me a rundown of the room: there was even an electric blanket since Scotland gets so cold! The check-in was fast and they were happy with my arrival. I had texted them before on Booking to ask about the busses and they replied to me quickly. There was at least one other room. The shower was comfortable and the bed was excellent! You can tell the couple takes pride in their home, after my shower the man cleaned it right away. When I left in the morning they came out in their bathrobes to say goodbye and told me I looked refreshed after the nights sleep, which was definitely true. Plus, the lady of the house went out of her way to show me the way to the train from the sidewalk.
It was convenient for our route from Scotland to Northumbria. It had better ratings than some other hotels in the area and was in a reasonable location and had off road parking.
The hotel manager and staff were very friendly and helpful.
