Sharing this families home was a privilege. I stayed in the suite, the biggest bed ever but so comfortable. My friends stayed in the nursery. Yes, there are some things that aren't perfect, it's a old property but if you're able to look past that and spend time chatting with the owners, it all adds to the overall effect. Continental breakfast delivered to your room.
Tigh an Eilean Hotel has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Shieldaig. The property is non-smoking and is situated 46 km from Victoria Falls. At the hotel, each room has a desk.
Situated beside the picturesque Loch Maree, this hotel was built in 1872 and once hosted Queen Victoria as a guest.

Room was very clean, spacious and nice. Light in bathroom mirror didn't work and the manager who had to come to see to it never turned up. Heating in the bedroom was not working.

It really was upscale camping. Had help getting our gear upto the dome. Comfortable bed, good basic facilities. Fantastic view over Lochcarron and really peaceful. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful.
Beautiful stars at night.

Unfortunately we had to move rooms during our stay which was unexpected. The second room was better, with a bath, a comfy bed and better heating. Dinner was superb. Delicious, creative and wonderful use of edible flowers . we loved playing pool after dinner and the lounge rooms and bar were very cosy.

The house and grounds were the outstanding part of our stay. The house oozes character and history. Perfect for a Highland stay.
Felix and Sarah our hosts were friendly and helpful, a special mention to Phillipa who went the extra distance to make our stay perfect.
If you want a true Highland experience then a stay at the Torridon estate will not disappoint.

Wanted to check out the town gallery to see if they sold the Torridon estates artists work. People were inside, eating or such, and it said OPENED but the doors were locked. We were on our way out of town around 11:00 am. Sad..we were in the mood to buy and to have a hot drink! Doesn’t say much for the community! Also, on our way into town, the night before, 2 people were sitting out front of the local store or restaurant and we had our car top down and waved! They just stared at us! Not too friendly!

This is no ordinary accommodation as one is staying in a family home which is being developed by the owners. The bedrooms are well renovated with comfortable beds. No tv which did not bother us. Instead, the house is peaceful.

We called ahead to Torridon stores and placed a grocery order. Jo, at the stores, was most helpful and provided most of what we needed. The rest we picked up at Tesco in Inverness. There is another useful store at Sheildaig.
We had excellent meals and service at the ‘Bo and Muc’, ‘The Walked Garden’ at Applecross, ‘Kishorn Seafood Bar’ at Kishorn.
Ben View was perfect for a family get together with four generations spread out through the house.
It is difficult to imagine finding a place that could offer better, ever-changing, views.

Torridon is simply one of the best places if you want to decompress and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The scenery is both dramatic and very beautiful, but also extremely peaceful and calming. I would love to visit this place at any time of the year (if it's accessible)

We only stayed one night whilst on the NC 500.
We only stayed one night whilst on the NC 500. Would be nice to stay longer but quite pricey for a B and B. We ate at Torridon Inn 4 miles away, worth the journey , alternative would be further away. Make sure you book somewhere to eat before travelling.
Surrounding area is stunning.
Torridon is a small Hamlet and quite secluded so take provisions. We arrived on a Sunday and the cafe was closed.
The cottages would be a good option for a number of days so no need to eat out.
The house was a grand mansion built in 1875, undergoing extensive renovation. The continental Breakfast was served in the room and was very nice. The Service friendly and accommodating. The bedrooms were clean, tidy and the beds comfortable. The house and the
whole experience was very different from the norm we would expect at a B n B, but, that doesn't mean that we didn't find the experience enjoyable, because we did, with the host very friendly and warm.
Very friendly and helpful confirmation email. Great dining recommendations. There’s no restaurant onsite but Sarah recommended the Torridon inn which was super.
Sarah and Felix were very welcoming.
The property is about as quirky as you can get. Think Faulty Towers and you’ll get it! We liked it but beware, if 5* resorts are your bag this won’t work for you.
If you like nice people, quirky shabby chic character you’ll like it.
The property is a very impressive highland residence.
Felix and Sara very friendly and welcoming. I will point out that it is a family home, it has its quirks but this is made very clear as soon as you book! The owners don’t make any pretence otherwise and are very open about this!! Yes it’s not cheap but remember torridon is very remote and not a huge amount of accommodation. We enjoyed our stay, thanks for looking after us!!
The estate is a magnificent property and we enjoyed the spacious room with a view. On arrival, we were greeted by a wild stag at the garden and it set our mood well. Felix the host was very helpful all the way and we had a wonderful and comfortable time at Torridon Estate. A bonus to our stay was we had breakfast served at the room where we could take our time to eat and enjoy the room a bit more, in pajamas.
Easy to find, plenty of space to park
Warm welcome - it felt like visiting friends
Lovely rooms - lots of space and nice furniture
Comfy beds - lovely and big
Plenty of hot water - good shower
Breakfast in our rooms was well organised - we liked this for a change and there was a table and chairs.
Amazing house on a large estate which included a water fall.
Amazing location in the heart of Torridon making it very accessible for hikes in the surrounding mountains or by the Lochside. Extremely welcoming hosts who are making excellent efforts to refurbish the lodge. Our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable indeed. We enjoyed breakfast being served in our room.
Torridon Estate is a unique property and experience. It’s not a chain hotel nor is it a cookie cutter boutique hotel. It may not be to everyone’s taste but we loved it and it was a highlight of our NC500 trip. The Torridon Estate website tells you all you need to know to see if you’d enjoy this unique experience
A truly amazing dreamy and unique experience staying in Sarah & Felix s beautiful home ,a lovely breakfast was served in our room it was wonderful ,romantic and so relaxing we also had view of the mountains from our bed.Torridon is absolutely stunning and without a doubt one of the best stays along the NC500
The staff were incredible, I have travelled extensively on business mostly abroad and can honestly say that the staff at Torridon were amongst the best that I have experienced. Am looking forward to returning.
Staff were so lovely. Lots of space, large lounge, big dinning room and kitchen. We used a little snug by reception to play cards with family in evening. Mrs lovely. Location amazing.
Large Manor House down a secluded road. Our room was large with a lovely sitting area and table for our breakfast which was brought to us. Breakfast was fresh and perfect.
Absolutely gorgeous /perfect location. Well equipped with everything you may need. Bright and spacious - location was excellent for exploring Torridon mountains and area
