So beautiful, with Bute only a 5 minute ferry ride away. Excellent for touring and such spectacular scenery. Great roads from Port Appin through Inverary and on to Tighnabruaich...it was a motorbike holiday and thoroughly enjoyable.

    Pleasant location with good views.

Pleasant location with good views. However, the village has limited facilities,, and sadly seems to be struggling to hold on to those it has. Good location for exploring the Cowal Peninsula and for the ferry at Portavadie to take you across to Kintyre.

Tighnabruaich is a lovely sea side village overlooking the Isle of Bute. It's out of the way and feels very remote. There are not many shops, but there are great walks and scenery for ever. Not a place for those looking for nightlife and thrills.

A beautiful location on the shore of the Kyles of Bute, overlooking the Island of Bute. There are many sandy beaches around, and opportunities for low level and high level walks. Ben More (h. 742 metres) will test the fitness of hillwalking visitors. Tighnabruaich offers a few shops (RNLI, Gallery, Charity, Cafes etc.) including a mini Co-op market. Ferry access is readily available to Tarbert on Kintyre, and to Rothesay with magnificent Mount Stuart and its Gardens on Island of Bute. The conserved Victorian Toilets situated in the centre of Rothesay, with impressive marble facings and old-time sanitary fittings, deserve an appreciative visit. Benmore Botanic Garden is not too far away, with its stunning avenue of Sequoiadendron Giganteum and a friendly cafe/restaurant.

The village is spread along the lochside for some distance and it lacks a focal point. There are however several walks in the area and a few places to dine out within a short drive. It's a good place to go if you are looking to get away for some peace and quiet. Do a bit of research on places to go in the area as it is not well advertised locally and some places are difficult to access without that knowledge - Kilbride Bay for example.

This is a cosy, comfortable apartment with a great view. It was a great base for a short break on Argyll's Secret Coast. The village store has everything you need for groceries and a there's a rapid charger for the car in Tighnabruaich.
