Holiday House with garden and sauna, hotel in Talmine

Set in Durness in the Highlands region, Holiday House with garden and sauna features accommodation with free private parking. This holiday home provides a garden.

The location in this tiny craft village is just perfect to totally unwind. No noises, no light pollution and only the sound of the sea and a beautiful view in the nightsky. We didn't get to know the host as he was on vacation himself but it was all well organised and we found the keys as described in an email. The interior decoration is amazing - we loved the dark, elegant, artsy aesthetics. Not to mention the sauna. Such a nice extra after a whole day outdoors in the cool, stormy weather.

There isn’t a lot to do at talmine itself - there’s a hotel called the tongue hotel which you can get a meal but it’s expensive there’s a local shop open during the day. Beautiful walk along the beach ( we seen seals ) very quiet and small town . Durness is about half hour drive with a couple of things to do but again very quiet and no pubs etc but does have a spar. Make sure you bring your own food etc if staying in talmine area . Gorgeous backgrounds and lovely walks but as we found out up the top of Scotland there’s not a lot going on apart from walks.

Lovely location if you like to walk otherwise not much else to do. No local pub in the village. Limited choice in village shop. Nowhere to buy a newspaper. The next place Tongue had a restaurant but not dog friendly.
