Very friendly and warm reception. The room was very clean and freshly painted with a very comfy bed. I'd rate this place as well above average and excellent value.

Was made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and appreciated the time Alan took with us as we checked in being very informative about the property and the surrounding area.
B&B has many different types of rooms/lodges and all have been done to a very high spec and the room we stayed in was immaculately clean and had everything we needed with many nice homely touches.
Was greeted by both Alan and Avril for breakfast where i thoroughly enjoyed my full Scottish breakfast and again was very well looked after by both.

We were there to meet up with friends was ideal for a short visit and the area was handy for Biggar a couple of miles up the road which is very interesting Symington it’s self does not have much and the hotel is on a hill just off the main road

Symington is not somewhere you would rate.
Symington is not somewhere you would rate. Staying in the hotel and visiting Symington would not normally occur in the same sentence i.e. while you might want to stay in the hotel you would never think of visiting Symington - there is nothing to see.
What a golden nugget!
We booked this hotel as left it too late to get any where in Edinburgh for the Taylor Swift show, the reason we booked this hotel was the price and it’s only 50 mins from Edinburgh! This hotel is incredible value for money, the room was spotless, the bathroom was lovely and the bed was so comfortable, I could tell it had recently undergone refurb and I just want to say well done on design, comfort and value for money!
This place needs knocking down its very un kept the place smells of damp and there is mould growing up the wall in my room, the whole place needs an update or to close. There was no bar open or evening food available. Only saw one member of staff who was run off his feet as I'm guessing he was the only staff there. Sad to see a hotel like this being run down & not looked after.
The hotel is a long historical one, rich of culture and style but was also recently renovated. This means a great combination of vibe, culture and comfort!
Food is really great.
I liked the environment and culture of the hotel, clean and tidy, Scottish characteristics, breakfast and dinner were very delicious, and the service was warm and friendly
Location is great, very close to Tinto hill. Room is very clean, breakfast amazing. Staffs are very nice, and helpful. Will come back in summer again. 10/10 hotel
Breakfast was brilliant. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful! Immaculate hotel. I’ll definitely stay at Tinto again. And recommend it to my friends and family.
Beautiful hotel with the cosy countryside feel, modern rooms, the stained glass windows on the main stairwell were stunning! Staff were warm and very welcoming.
