We managed to book not long before we arrived and we chose it because of the late check in. It was great that the pub was able to accommodate us at such short notice. The staff were really helpful. The breakfast was really good.

Bedroom very comfortable. Large and recently refurbished to a very high standard.
The location is superb, close to the centre and excellent gardens adjacent to the river Tweed.
We stayed at Wheatsheaf Hotel, and it was superb. Swinton is a very small, remote village in the Scottish borders. It appears on this, our first visit, to be sleepy and have little to do, but this was in January so it is probably not a true reflection. There are, however, a number of bigger towns within a reasonably short drive. so a car is essential to get about.
Beautiful location, garden was lovely. House was an amazing warren of interesting rooms for the kids to explore. Lots of sofas for lounging about in the evening. The kitchen was big enough to cook big dinners for everyone and sit down at the big kitchen table to eat. Lovely views from all the windows. Nice little pub just along the road in Swinton with a beer garden.
fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff, I used this hotel as a base to sightsee and visit Scotland, borders and Northumberland. Very good place for the foodies to enjoy - the meals were superb.
Lovely position easy to find staff very helpful a warm feeling when you entered the hotel . The meals were very good and breakfast amazing choice and most importantly was hot.
