Skelmorlie is really lovely situated in the middle of Wemyss Bay and Largs which are fantastic places to visit. Of course you can travel further but as a family we found all we wanted to do close by. We got the ferry to Rothesay from Wemyss Bay and us and the kids collected stones on the beach to paint and take home as momemntos of our holiday and that entertained them in the evening back at where we were staying. Largs is absolutely beautiful and it has small fair with rides for the kids and a lovely beach where you can see more ferry's, lovely music played on the pier and we seen an elderly couple dance to Frank Sinatra songs, it was as if they could only see one another, I thought it was wonderful. Plenty photo opportunities to be seen, the tall Viking was our favourite. Largs also has lots of places to eat and drink, lots of shops and just a lovely seaside holiday feel to it. We visited Vikingar in Largs and it was superb, highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back.
