Host St Ives, hotel in St Ives

Situated in St Ives, 300 metres from Porthminster Beach, Host St Ives features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Stylish, excellently well planned out, lots of little personal or quirky touches - the perfect anniversary getaway! Utterly luxurious 🤍 The room itself was super spacious; the comfortable sitting area had a generous chaise sofa, fireplace with working fire and TV. This space had views of the quaint streets and, despite being on the ‘main’ road (by St Ives standards) it was perfectly quiet. The kitchenette was well equipped with teas/coffees, etc… as well as some complimentary beer. The bed area was sumptuous, with squashy pillows and faux fur throws. The giant bath tub was a great place to read and gaze at the skies! A walk in shower in the bathroom was perfect for after a sea swim. Downstairs was a lovely looking restaurant- which we didn’t get to sample as it was closed on the days we were there. The rooms were soundproofed - and as the building is an old bank, the walls and floors were super thick. Razzie, the host, was attentive and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a romantic stay.

Harbour View House, hotel in St Ives

Offering a garden and sea view, Harbour View House is set in St Ives, 200 metres from Porthminster Beach and 600 metres from Porthmeor Beach.

As soon as I walked into the Hotel it smelt and looked clean. Rooms are spacious and had all the required facilities including a hairdryer. No need to take any toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo or conditioner as had it all readily available. Coffee and tea was also available and you could help yourself to the selection they provided in the corridor. I made the mistake of assuming the car park was in the price, it wasnt, we had to pay £6 extra and even after our stay had finished, they allowed us time to go and do some shopping in town and leave the car at the hotel . We stayed in number 8 and had an all round view of the harbour and street, so pleasantly surprised. At breakfast you’re offered a number of various items, many of which are cooked and a choice of different coffees and tea.

St Ives is a great place to visit in October, but there are too many steep roads and steps for older visitors. Every time I was walking down one of the narrow streets, I turned around to find a car behind me. I wonder how dangerous this becomes in the summer! The shops, pubs and restaurants are all dog friendly and, being October, it was not too crowded. Parking is a nightmare, and walking from any accommodation to any parking space to explore the peninsular made us a lot fitter by the end of our 5 day stay!

    St Ives is so quaint.

St Ives is so quaint. It is full of cobbled streets that are beautiful to look at in themselves. There are so many lovely shops to visit & people there are very happy folk. The harbour has colourful boats & it is a pleasure to sit in the cafe having a coffee looking out to sea even if the weather becomes changeable.

St Ives is a lovely place little seaside town, perfect for families with toddlers and school age children, they love to fish in the rock pools and paddle, the water is safe when the tides out, for them to play. The variety of shops is good too! I spotted a Crew branch (similar to Salt Rock) and a few other high street stores, numerous souvenir shops and loads of places for fish and chips, cream teas and ice creams, watch out for the seagulls!

St Ives has a beautiful broad bay of yellow sands which stretches way into the distance. Great beaches for families and water sports. The town is very hilly, with few restaurants. Most are on the long boardwalk beside the beach. Difficult to get to Tate st Ives if you are elderly or in a wheelchair. As an artist I was disappointed with the collection on view. Very busy August bank holiday weekend.

Very scenic with plenty of local restaurants . Parking can be an issue. Good access to public transport trains, buses, taxis. Would have liked to have seen more restaurants with references to the fishing and pirate days as their themes

St Ives itself is very busy and can be a little on the expensive side but if you plan accordingly then you'll be absolutely fine. All surrounding beaches are absolutely beautiful. Penzance is another beautiful place to visit and lands end is a shirt drive and definitely worth a visit. The lighthouse Still works in st ives so if you've never seen one lit before it's definitely worth a watch. The old cemetery in st ives is fascinating and has some incredible headstones with many dating right back to the late 1800s. There's an old gun stand from the war against napoleon and so much other history in such a small town!

Whoever conceived and decorated this hotel had exquisite taste. The bedroom and restaurant were lovely spaces to be in, and to look out of at the incredible view. Breakfast gets a special mention. It is far superior to a buffet: you just get given a comprehensive a la carte menu and order whatever you want. As for the staff: what a team the management has assembled!

Extremely nice located with a fantastic view on the bay (when seaside view has been choosen). Excellent for people who enjoy a stay in a castle hotel for reasonable prices and who can abstain from optical luxury interior. I liked that very much.
