Tobar nan Iasgair Lismore, hotel in Port Appin

Tobar nan Iasgair Lismore is situated in Achnacroish. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. Outdoor dining is also possible at the holiday home.

The cottage was so comfortable. It was like a home away from home. Many holiday rentals do not feel like a home. This was wonderful. We loved the patio looking out over the harbour and the wood burning stove. Both made it a very special weekend away.

Amazing people and amazing place, felt comfort like at home. No words to describe, had perfect days to rest, just what was needed after many months of working hard with no vacation. It was sad to leave and I liked on Lismore more than in Oban, should have stayed more than just 2 nights. Such a wonderful nature and people around. Also met Arthur who has 3 chepherding dogs, this was a great experience also. Nice people living on the island. And the piano playing..and the food cooked by Sarah and Yorick...perfect Scottish island experience.

With one wee shop, a restaurant with rooms and a setting to die for, Port Appin is an unspoiled, beautiful location to visit all year round. Dinner and breakfast at the Pierhouse hotel was a bonus.

Port Appin is a jewel in the most beautiful place in the world, Scotland's west coast. Lismore, the island in Loch Linnhe, is like a little bit of heaven. We ate twice in the Pierhouse Hotel. It was very good indeed. Walking, cycling, swimming, hill walking, sailing, there are so many things to do. It is 2.5 hours drive from east Central Scotland.

Front of house staff were well organised, very helpful, polite and eager to assist in any way. Their local knowledge was extremely helpful plus chef had them well versed on the menu and local produce. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The only downside was the double bed. Maybe it was turned the wrong way round as my head was lower than my feet. Another pillow would have been handy - don’t let that put you off as this is a fantastic hotel with first class food and service. A big plus nowadays are the two BEV charging points - delighted to leave with full stomachs and a fully recharged battery.

Perched towards the end of Loch Linnhe opposite the island of Lismore and the peaks of Ardgour and Morvern, Port Appin is small but perfectly formed. A scattering of houses along the lochside, it is well served by two hotels and a community-run shop, as well as many other facilities, particularly in the summer season (crafts; bike hire, local produce). The Pierhouse specialises in seafood and is excellent (the Airds hotel was closed but it was January). Ideal for a relaxing holiday, pottering around on beaches, up small hills, wandering in the woods, taking photographs, watching birds, it really is idyllic. So please don't go there : )

    The dining experience is excellent.

The dining experience is excellent. Would have liked to be able to choose our breakfast time and not been given one. As it is called a hotel would have liked to have been able to order a snack on arrival early afternoon but the kitchen was closed so more of a Guest House.

The views from the hotel are stunning.

The views from the hotel are stunning. Our dinner in the seafood restaurant was second to none. Rooms are bright, warm and spotless. The Pier House Hotel is perfectly situated for visiting both Lismore and the surrounding islands. Castle Stalker is also a stones throw away.
