The most stunning views. We were very lucky with the weather so spent lots of time in the outdoor seating listening to the stream and birdsong. Room itself spacious and comfortable. The gather is a beautiful space and food good. Might go for lodge with a hot tub next time!

Newton Stewart, or the low land forests, does not show up in what to do in Scotland. This is a hidden gem. Nice town with lots to do in and around. Historic Museum is excellent if you like that stuff (I do). Nearby park and hills offers great hiking and biking opportunities, we went on two 3-5 KM hikes. Kennedy castle gardens was an unexpected treat and opportunity to get more exercise. This was a nice two day stop between the Irish Ferry and Glasgow.

We were told that Newton-Stewart was a charming village, even though it is very out of the way. We were looking for nearby accommodation from the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse. Turns out that the lighthouse was the only good thing on offer. We hired a night sky ranger to visit the dark sky park in Galloway, which was very cool. However, the village seemed shabby and most things were closed for dinner on a Sunday after 6.

It was the perfect place to come and unwind, surrounded by nature. We spent most of our time sitting in the outdoor 'living room' watching the weather change across the valley and Lulu contentedly grazing in her field or sitting round the fire pit, watching a thunderstorm! The bathhroom is just awesome!
Really lovely wee caravan, exactly what we needed for a fun long weekend away. With Newton Stewart just a few minutes away, you were in the middle of no-where, but had everything that you might possibly need at hand. The owners were super helpful and able to accomodate my random request for casserole dishes (I like taking time to cook while we're away hehe!) and really couldnt do any more to help. Super comfy, I can totally recommend.
The cottage was in a quiet area outside of town but with easy access to Newton Stewart and to hiking and biking areas in Galloway Forest Park. Also near a fun gin distillery and good restaurants in town. Graeme was very responsive and helpful. We couldn't get the heaters to work and he came over quickly to resolve the problem. The house is a fairly recent remodle and all the facilities were in excellent condition.
Our room was beautifully decorated and looked out onto the river. The bed was very comfortable and the room was warm. Breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and very good. We arrived quite late in the evening but Nicole didn't mind and made us feel welcome. We had a good evening meal at The Ship Inn nearby. Newton Stewart is in an excellent position to travel and sightsee around Galloway.
All members of staff were very friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean in all areas of the hotel.Breakfast spot on. The bar served excellently chilled beer and lager which was much appreciated in the hot weather we were having. Good value for money for our stay. Newton Stewart was a good base for visiting Isle of Whithorn which was our aim
Great setting, lots to do, beautiful views. Caravan had everything you needed and was in a quiet area. If you are looking for somewhere to eat I would recommend The Belted Galloway VIsitors Center in Newton Stewart, food was brilliant and it was a quirky wee place.
Spotlessly clean and cosy cottage in a great location for exploring the surrounding area. Very close to Galloway forest and lots of bike routes in the area. Easy access to supermarkets in Newton Stewart, there's a footpath from the cottage to town. Fabulous shower.
Great hotel in Newton Stewart, the staff are so friendly and helpful, room was spotlessly clean with water tea and coffee, dinner was superb and great value for money, breakfast in the morning was freshly prepared and a good choice.I would certainly use here again.
Our room was very clean and comfortable and the landlord and landlady, welcoming. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Dumfries & Galloway. Buses to Dumfries, Girvan and Wigtown leave from just down the road. The pub also does tasty pizzas in the evening
Location on the edge of Newton Stewart was excellent for us to be able to explore the west of Galloway.
It was also possible to walk into Newton Stewart in the evening for a meal. Or if too much of a hike, a taxi would not have been deadly.
The hotel was in need of an update, it was very dated.
We had our evening meal there, together with our breakfast, and both were very good.
Parking was on the premises and sufficient. Location was perfect, right in the heart of the town.
Stunning property and location, close to lots of great places to visit. It was our friends first visit to Scotland and they were not disappointed. We would definitely return.
Lovely clean & comfortable accommodation, has everything needed for a relaxing break. The park that the caravan is located in is also spotlessly clean and well maintained.
The staff was so friendly and attentive. Everyone I met in Newton Stewart felt like old friends. I would definitely stay there again if I have a chance!
